It was a loss, no doubt, but can you put a price on the valuable EPL, CL, La Liga experience he gained which he would have never had a chance to get at Barca?

He had 2 CL goals before he signed for Barca.

his contract expired in 2009, they didn't have MUCH choice.

I'm not condoning poaching or excusing it, but fact is this is a case of reaping what you sow. although they poached him for nothing (or next to nothing), he's worth at least four times as much as what we paid for him.
