28 - Roony Bardghji

I agree with @serghei, Roony doesn't show big promise. This is not 1999, where you'd wait for a 22 year old to be still a hot prospect to become great at 26 and retire at 34.

Football's changed. If you're not good at 18 it's already half-over.

This statement is already divisive and you can find countless examples of later bloomers, but Roony falls exactly under the category of super-hyped youngsters before they were 18.

But he is good ?

And no matter what year it is players improve with age. I'm sure if he gets more playtime he will be even better

I don't know what are these comments. He's phenomenal for a 19 year old who also just came back from an ACL injury (for a winger, it is a big thing)

One thing is for sure. Being behind Yamal as RW ain't gonna get him the minutes he needs. So we either rotate more both in terms of resting players and in terms of positions or he needs a loan.

If we loan him, it is without a buy option and to a good team. But I'd prefer to keep. Cheap players on low wage who can play well is exactly ideal scenario for us in terms of depth. Ship back Rashford and try this guy at LW also.

Flick should try him on LW but it is hard for a player with his style to play on the other side.
Really think the best option would be loaning him to a midtable team and after it selling for 50 million to PL but a cheap bench option is always good, but not for himself, he needs to play week in week out

And who would be the substitute right winger? Top teams have TWO players of starting quality for every position, but for some reason Barca fans want to sell everyone and compete with 13 players ffs.

The best option for us is that he stays, keeps improving and delivers when he plays.

He should stay yeah. And soon we will need a RW too once Yamal moves centrally for permanent. Roony is 19 and can develop a lot in few years here

I think he's having a great game, also did recently vs Betis.

but

Can elaborate on this tomorrow, however..
I have low expectations of him. I think he lacks certain skills to be top class player. I can't see how he is going to damage say, Bayern or PSG. Can ball against most Liga teams though.

At most, there is a handful of wingers in the world who won't struggle against a healthy and in form Mendes or Alphonso Davies. Even Lamine had hard time against Mendes.

That is an unfair bar to set. Especially for a 20 years old winger returning from ACL who just joined from the Danish league.

I don't know how can he can be against those, and tbh I would wait until he has a full season before making a final judgement, or at least until his level is so clear.

I think he is at least someone we can use reliably regardless of opponents, not as a first choice, but as an option.

Thank god for that load of bullshit, since the guy above was basically playing third tier football at 20, and now at 22 he's a 100M player. :ROFLMAO:

It definitely is smart business from Deco. At this point we can sell him for much more than 3m, and his price could only go up if he keeps performing like this in minutes given

With the money they had they've done very well in the summer. 3 smart and useful signings

Yeah true, didn't quite understand what windhook wanted to say

There is no reason to believe he can't or won't improve a lot in a season or two here, training with the best players every day

And he is good now. For his age and considering he had such a tough injury that is especially harsh on wingers

He was praised as a special talent and wanted by many top clubs before his injury, let's not forget this. Even though he played in a low profile league and club. And ACL doesn't seem to have damaged him too much
