Why do people blame him for the Acerbi goal? Genuinely don't see the fuck he was supposed to do. Acerbi a meter in front of him, hit the ball with full force, Araujo marking him and got owned. Szczesny had no business there.

Lowkey, recently I've been kinda missing Victor Valdes. Lacked brains at times but had so much passion compared to Terror and Tek. Also was a decent shot stopper and not a p*ssy. Was never afraid to shove an attacker or curse at them.
I just can't imagine our current keepers having a performance like this at a CL final.

That mid to late 00s is peak Valdes. He was pretty solid back then. Of course, he still fucked it up at times like when he caught the ball and landed with it past the goal line vs Livepool in 2007 gifting Bellamy a goal. 
Saved nothing vs Chelsea in 2012... but he had quite several big games where he was solid along the years. 2006, 2009 CLs he did quite well. Played his part no doubt. In 2011, the tream cruised basically.
Goal line keeper with top reflexes at times, shite on crosses, and was a known acquaintance to blunders. You never knew which Valdes you will get, but at least compared to Stegen, you got to see his competitive side in semi-often occasions. His big games weren't like Halley's Comet.

Yeah, I don't think he could have done much at any of the 4 goals. Like really, one was a 2 vs 1, 2nd was a well taken pen, 3rd was a close range shot in the roof of the net, and 4th was expertly taken by Frattesi.
1st leg is the one I have a problem with his keeping. 1 and 3 he could have done more.

Those were good saves but not amazing stuff. Sommer saw Yamal shooting at far post every time and acted accordingly. If any of those shots would have been a little more to his right Sommer wouldn't have saved them. The only time when Yamal shot at the near post he beat Sommer but unfortunately it hit the post.
When players did place the ball well, we scored. Same thing happened in PSG vs Arsenal. PSG placed their shots well and Raya couldn't do jack shit.
Tek's performance in Milan wasn't bad and it's not like he could save us from anything. Maybe the goal at near post for the 3-3 could be considered part his mistake. But again, ball was shot from small distance, with power and most importantly it was excellently placed.
Sommer was good because we made him look good. Shots that most GKs at that level should save.
If Barca would have won forum would have said that Tek's performance was clutch. At the end of the day both GKs saved what they could save and were beaten by good finishing. Sommer just looked better because his goal was bombarded all night and his team won.
