Yes he did have notable saves at the end of first 90 mins lol. Important sweeping just before the destined-to-be Rapha winner, Ter Saddam would never have the balls to pull it off. Tek is a good keeper, but we never have had a keeper that could seriously save our defense with 5-7 amazing saves like Sommer did today. What I'm trying to point out is that I wouldn't be opposed to having another keeper as a starter with Tek as a backup/for copa matches only.
These slim differences actually come out to be huge in the CL. Look at how many times Courtois saved RM in the CL. The slim margins matter.

Those kinds of keeper performances usually happen for teams that are getting outplayed though.
De Gea used to put them in regularly for United when they were backs against the wall but would struggle for Spain when they were dominating possession and he had limited shots to face.
Wasn't Sommer the guy who replaced MaTS at Gladbach when we signed him?
Through my years seeing the guy, he is one of those who every so often has these inspired nights- and then let's in a clanger or two when you don't expect it.

The last statement is true for most GK btw. Even Neuer who was considered generational GK, same with Casillas and even young Cortouis.
Only Buffon and pre head injury Cech that weren't very mistake prone.
