Kounde in his whole career at Barca has had fuck ups regularly on ball and been an average at best 1v1 defender.
His feet are often caught and slow to get going on both sides of ball.
This season been worse.

Needs his ass benched for Eric and Christensen/Araujo should play at CB.

Groundhog day, start of the season fans always complain about his slow start.
By the end of the season, everyone will be praising him again.

He is suffering more now as with the injuries teams can target him more on the ball.
They are man marking Frenkie/Pedri and Yamal etc and leaving Kounde/Gerard etc spare to funnel ball to them then closing in on them.
PSG and Sevilla did it all game.
Scez is shit on ball so not outlet back to GK, the best CB on ball is Cubarsi who rather than being there to help Kounde is at LCB too often.
The it makes it easier to also play these traps when Yamal not the risk of leaving 1v1 as often and also when no pace at CF there is no outlet ball in behind and teams can press up with little fear.
I would bet my bottom dollar that was another reason Frenkie played so high up and on right.. to offer pressing to help front line and offer runs in behind as an option for Yamal Kounde if Kounde is being pressured or Yamal has ball but double marked.
Kounde has always been slow footed and prone to brain farts. Has them near enough every game. Then if has a bit more time can have a top moment on ball the next.
Slow footed defensively also a lot and allows a lot of time for LW to get the ball in from his side.
There is a reason Xavi didnt want him RB v any decent LW.
Flick seeks to reduce those moments with offside trap.

He was playing too much last season and this season.
Physical and mental fatigue are visible. At some point you lose the edge when you play too much. Not excited anymore.
Could apply the same to the whole team based on their physical and mental state. Just tired.

Kounde missed the last 7 games of last season and that is rest from games.
Then did not play in summer for France.
Barely played any competitive football between April and September this year.
He wont be done in from too many games.
