21 - Frenkie de Jong

Nah he was the best mid easily in those three wins in second half of last season and the best player in two of them.

Ajax game he was best mid on park and had folk purring.

Been Barca best player v Real under Xavi as said... was very good this season and last v Atletico at home etc.

But you keep exagerating about 'big teams'.

Yesterday he looks knackered and struggling to run freely but was ok within that but levels have along with rest dropped lately.
Now you already changed from being the best player at Ajax vs Real to suddenly the best midfielder and even that wasn’t true. Everyone can look the full match up and see that VD Beek had way more direct involvement than him.

You think he was that good vs Atletico this season? He didn’t do anything on the ball besides short passes between the lines. Defensively he did good but on the ball way below Gundogan who created the most.

It was true he was class that game... can be best mid and best player.. point remains.

Yeah he was poor away to atletico and very good at home v them and was very good at home v them this season.

Haha shock Gundogan creates more when Gundogan plays much further forward and is indeed better in final third than anyone else at Barca.

Irrelevant point... gues what.... Gundogan played well also... shocker eh!

Then you only checked his highlights vs Real at Ajax because otherwise you would have seen that alone Tadic was 10 times better that game.

If that’s what you find great vs Atletico then Barca is in real trouble indeed. If Kroos or Modric played like that they would be punished with doing nothing.

Gundogan and Frenkie are both a double pivot. Gundogan just takes the task to be more decisive while Frenkie did nothing more than short passes between the lines. This season Gundogan has way more direct involvement in attack than Frenkie and besides that is also press resistant, gives long balls and short combinations. Yess he makes more faults but that’s normal if you try create

Indeed he was very good v Atletico at home in league this season and last.

Easy to see if watch the games.

Gundogan has much more attacking role for Barca than FDJ and played many times..like he did yesterday just off of Lewa also.

Stop with your constant ignorance.

Stop comparing Gundogan to De Jong.

Slowly but surely, in a new league, team and system, with a few dysfunction, gundogan is starting to show is class.

Tactical he's on a whole other level to any of our players.

He's starting to show us, what being a midfield general is all about.

He's got 2 good years left in him, including this one.

I hope next season the team comes together.

Have said Gundo and FDJ been best two this season.. been about one of main voices for Gundo this season so pipe down.

He also has been leggy lately and losing ball in bad areas at times but he is best Barca have on ball and fucking light years ahead on that above likes of Gavi.

Gundo looked knackered yesterday also. His passing was sloppy.

Imagine having Gundogan and prime De Jong and the most expensive forward line in LL and blaming our lack of success on players. 👌🤣

Everytime the same boring passes between the lines. He doesn’t even try to be creative. I rather see someone making mistakes but with courage than these cowardly passes

Looked knackered but the best of the midfielders in last half hour by far. Poor prior to that.

Was getting ball forward early into Lewa and Gundo once game opened up but those two could barely control it.

I think the best thing is to say that all 3 midfielders were weak instead of saying that he was the best of them. He did absolutely nothing and played safe all night. It’s easy not making mistakes when you play safe.

Both De Jong and Gundogan are tired as hell. Xavi being a shit coach means we are relying on individuals so these 2 guys(plus a few others) are played 24/7. Wouldn't be surprised if they picked up an injury in the near future.

Nah Pedri was best in first half and faded..

Gundo was poor throughout.

FDJ best in last half hour and played well. Winning ball and getting it forward early when on.

They played with 10 men. I didn’t liked none of the midfielders. They don’t anticipate on each other and stand still looking. No one thinks ahead and then you get this football with no movement
