Olmo, was that asshole.

He will have better days and I like having his ability in the squad. What I've been harping on from the start is that he's an extreme luxury type of player due to his pathetic record of staying fit. Once you combine that with inconsistency, that's a big problem.

I wouldn't mind as much about performances like yesterday's if we wasn't made of glass.

Just when he's having a good spell of games he gets injured.

Just when you think he is good, he misses sitters.

Nearly there as a class player, yet so distant still.

Time to call him Dani Almost.

A transfer that never should have happened.

I was hoping he'd attract at least some sort of interest from other clubs in the summer but heard nothing in that regard, my hope is we'll still somehow sell him the next summer and take some money back from his transfer fee but I know that's not very likely at all atm.

If you look on other players who had a fee of 50-60 million you see that 55 million for him is a normal price. He was very good last season when he was fit. Lets wait, mybe he stays fit this season and anyway Flick has to rotate him with Fermin.

Staying fit is purely useless if he plays shit like this season until now...

Still... 55M for a player that is injured half the time and the remaining time he doesn't add shit half of the time? Sure, when the moon and sun and planets etc are "right" he plays an incredible game - but that is like every 10th game he is fit or so. He doesn't suck, neither does Shark - but with better scouting we could have had maybe 4 players doing the exact same thing Olmo/Shark are doing and we could have decent backups for FB positions. Right now, what I've seen from for example Dro - if we would put Dro in a team with Frenkie, Pedri, Yamal, Raphinha and Lewa than Dro wouldn't be much off Olmo. Imo it was a somewhat unnecessary transfer since attacking midfielders fucking grows on the Masia tree - that's like 90% of what it produces... CMs and AMs.

Dro would still be a long way off Olmo.

Still very lightweight and has not yet shown anything to be on Olmo level.

If he beefs up and he/Toni/Guille prove themselves this season then absolutely Olmo or Fermin dependent on who was not first choice needs to go.

We could have probably been able to skip Olmo transfer AND selling Fermin and still have talent in the Fernadez's and Dro taking over, but they would need minutes they can't get at the moment.
