20 - Dani Olmo

His bread and butter is getting the ball early into his feet in AM area and trying to take it on half turn and create space.

Today though Barca were more opting to ping it down line into channels.. and to be fair could have scored a few from it.

Olmo then failed to finish.. which he was good at last season.

Shite game overall. He looked like weight of world on shoulders.
Yeah he's best in the central areas high up the pitch, trying to turn and play in pockets. and play one twos or dribble, making little opening.

he's not a deep controller nor is he generally any good when he drifts too far wide, in my opinion.

People were ok with 60 milion signing if he ghosts/misses the big games as long as he scores against some Spanish plumbers and wins 3 points. Well now opposite is happening, he misses open net we lose points and his big game performances are likely not going to get any better. Or his injury record. So all in all the more time passes the more I think those money really could have been used better

Yet another failed expensive transfer Barcelona style ffs. He was never good and consistent enough for a club like Barca.

No wonder nobody wanted him in the summer, no rumor of anybody wanting him whatsoever.

Cost us 3 points today ffs!

Won us 12 points lsat season to win the league.
So the transfer is already worth it.
At the same time we dont need that headless chicken FERMIN aka FLicks lover boy to play again.

Another lover of Flick is Martin.

Its madness to say a player won 12 points by himself. If you win by 1 goal margin and player scores decisive goal, it does not mean he won the 3 points personally. Its a collective team effort, and maybe if someone else was on the pitch he would also score

Still his dip in performance from last year is huge not to mention he is made from glass.
Not only he did stop making a difference on the pitch long ago but now he misses sitters for fun.

I'd love to be wrong about him but really doubt it atm.

Maybe his performance dipped a bit when he had to deal with all the talk of him not being able to play again that season... something that is still happening now.

Its a shambles.

Nah he is a very good player and had off day today.

He seems to disappear when game gets rough. I can understand that with his injury history. He was never the same after Real roughed him up in a game(one of the later Clasicos where they **** him good last season). He became a bit more fearful and maybe scared.

60m for Olmo is great in this market.

You got guys like Harvey Simon going for more.

Forget the EPL even, go down those Bundesliga signings this summer and you will see so many high fees for bang average players.

He scored away in Inter and came off the bench to help Barca win some tough games in second half of season.

Truth
Problem with Olmo, apart from injury concerns, is not a new one - inconsistency

This was the only reservation I had on him...what a shocking miss early in the 2nd half

Poor game but still notable how our connection to the attack disappeared when he was subbed. He does find those advantageous spaces to pick it up. Fermin in comparison was invisible.

Yeah Fermin was in full headless chicken mode and shite but not even in right areas.

Olmo was shite but at least looked like knew where to be.
