Could have some school work to do as well. Yeah, he's a star and (will be) a milliionaire but education is important, shouldn't forget about that. There is a life after football as well and that might come sooner than expected. Hopefully not but you never know.
Obviously don't know his family dynamics but think mom still has a big influence on Lamine and will try to keep his feets on the ground for as long as she possibly can. And hopefully he will be smart enough and listen to her and not to his headcase dad. Not saying he doesn't love Lamine or wish him the best but from what I've seen he often behaves like a teenager in his mid-thirties so not exactly a good role model.

This topic came up last season when it was already being speculated he would ’inherit‘ it from Ansu before opting for a Messi-like #19
Reminded me of both Ansu getting it from Messi and Leo getting it from Ronnie when he exited. When Leo was rumoured to get the #10, he was still very much a RW with no real sign he would move centrally which is often associated with a #10.
With Ronaldinho, I remember still finding it difficult to process the implosion of that team led by Ronnie’s fall from grace and how little we ended up getting to see him & Messi play together at their peak. It was doubly painful, I can vividly recall - Messi was always getting injured yet there was an undeniable on (And off as we know) pitch chemistry that brought footballing nirvana.
With Leo, I actually questioned both whether it was appropriate for Messi to take the #10 (Partly I thought it was too much pressure, especially considering how broken fans were about Ronnie’s simultaneous exit as one of our most iconic #10s - a player that changed a dynamic in the club’s fortunes both on & off the pitch. It was a transition and Ronnie really changed the club so #10 was not just a BdO winner but they were the elite protagonist that evoked joy & provoked a culture change at the club, IMHO) or that he didn’t appear to be the same profile a player as Ronnie. This, of course, proved to be a gross erreur
For me, Messi was our greatest #10 after whom I believe many cules rightly believe is Ronnie - the transition to Ansu always felt premature despite being at a footballing crossroads not unlike the other two eras of the team. Sporting wise club was weakened by massive mismanagement of the Barto/Rosell reign and the club was desperate for sparking a new generation considering an aging squad was now losing the 🐐 as well. I never liked that Ansu Fati got the #10, from there it’s anyone’s guess to what degree it impacted his overall game. The #10 at Barça is simply different sauce, comes with a lot of responsibility because it is linked to expectations on delivering what a #10 at Barça does - influence the outcome of matches while provoking joy
Lamine, for me, it is undeniable he wears the #10…if he wants it. Maybe he wants to make his own path, no idea. But for what the number means at Barça (I recognize for a lot of fans it‘s simply just a number but not at this club), he is exactly the profile that befits it and frankly, it would be outrageous for anyone else to have it…Ansu should be walking over on his knees to formally pass the baton. Plus, we’re at another crossroads in the club’s history as a new generation is exploding in the world of football along with a modern stadium and success on/off the pitch across the club - seems normal an appropriate #10 leads the way

Yamal will take the number 10 from Fati so there is no problem at all. He is the youngest number 10 in history of Barca.

My criteria is this - Pedri is currently receiving around 13 million euros under his new contract.
He is obviously the best player on the team at the moment. However, Raphinha and Yamal are not far behind. Let's make allowance for the fact that "all other things being equal" forwards usually receive more.
Raphinha's new contract (3 years) should not be more than 15 million euros.
If Yamal's contract is for 4 or 4+ years, his contract should not be more than 15 million euros.
If Yamal and Mendes want a shorter contract, it should not exceed 13 million euros.

Definitely fake news, it will be somewhere in the teens most likely.
If he's being generous, he might accept 12m, knowing he's still young, but it we go that route we will have to renegotiate within two years, as he continues to develop.
Just give him 15-18m and don't negotiate again until 2 years is left on his contract.
