19 - Lamine Yamal

He’s 17! We massively rely on him, the only player who can create something magic.
MOTM by far according to whoscored: 9.5! also for sofascore:8.7!
Let him live, he's only 17 — in a few years, we'll see what he becomes.

Doue: 20 dribbles in 14 UCL games this season. Goat, King, Ballon Dor.

Yamal in last two games vs Inter: 20 dribbles. Useless.

Go back to your qsg cave.

😆 🤣...you need to laugh at yourself for this level of stupidity. I have never even compared yamal and Doue at any point(have done with Nico) other than stating that Barca missed out on a good one in Doue.

You can do better, for your age.

He is not a bad player.

He is retarded in the last 10 days after the last El Classico.

Your post doesn't make sense.
So what if he was good during the whole season?

If Sczesny was good for 6 months and he concedes 3 stupid goals in a key match, would you say: no biggie, he was good for 6 months.

Or would you say: he ruined our chances tonight?

You know how I hated Neymar because he was ballhogging and slowing down our team, in spite of good individual numbers and fancy moves.

Yamal was a carbon copy of the worst version of Neymar in the last 10 days.

Remember how many World cups and CLs has Neymar won, inspite of his talent.
There is a reason why Neymar's teams were losing in 90% of key KO matches.

Look at Lamal's body language tonight, haircut, social media posts.
Kid acted as if tonight's match was a Hollywood movie about him.

He totally lost his head.

Only one who lost his head is you. Guess you lost it when a 16 year old dunked on your favourite Rabiot and brought his country to the Euro Final.
Yamal's mentality is the least thin we can complain about. Kid us brought us back from the ashes at 0-2 in the first tie and was unplayable ever since and unlucky not to have a few goals and assists more. He showed incredible resilience and mentality and he is only 17.

If you don't see how he was the most influential player in this tie, then I don't know what to say to you. To reduce his whole mentality to his haircut on IG posts is incredibly reductionist and a useless take.

So amazingly predictable from you to return to the forum as soon as we lose and find whatever reason to blame it on a 17 year old Yamal with blond hair.

In a different world, he gets that break, runs to the corner flag and gets either a

Free kick
Corner kick
Foul.

That's another few minutes keeping the ball in there half.

Game set match

Situational awareness.

Game is already won, no such thing as winning it more or winning it better.
Will always think about this.

Watch his highlights… incredible game yet again. There are a handful of better knockout performances I have ever seen over two legs. Defence let him down.

Also... his post... has nothing to do with theri goal.. the 3-3 starts with a goal kick. Cubarsi missing a header, Martin missing (how the fuck) the ball twice and get pickpocketed and Araujo marking with his eyes a DEFENDER. get a grip guys.

He was incredible. That was a Neymar 6-1 carry job while the amigos were crying.

The jump he has made from the start of the season is huge.

Inter put 2 men on him? No problem.

Now, get this man a proper striker.

Absolutely came to play in the biggest games.

Question is does he have one more in him?
After 120 mins of football I fear he's finished... For this season.

Someone else needs to do the carry job

Got the feeling when watching that even if Inter marked him with 10 men he would find a way to get past them. 2 guys were sprinting up to him and he passed them every time in a couple of taps.

And those are top defenders, Bastoni and Dimarco, not jokes, top level defenders.

Never been so confident in calling a future Ballon Dor winner, he will win the Ballon Dor for sure if not multiple times going forward.

One last final. Let's secure the double this weekend. Madrid don't have a defence.

But then again, neither do we...

He won the ball back multiple times as well.
He has only one clear and obvious weakness which is his inconsistent shooting form, but then again he's 17, nearly 18 years old.
You're not getting the complete, finished footballer at that age. I'm confident he'll develop that significantly over the next 1-2 years.

And once he has that there isn't another footballer in the world that even comes close to him right now.

No offense but you don't see it.
You only see the surface.

About the Euros:
1. Yamal's ego wasn't as big since he hadn't win an Euros before that and he wasn't as good as he was this season at Barca.
So, he was more grounded.

2. Also, at Euros, he wasn't surrounded by kids like at Barca but with lots of experienced champions.
He wasn't a diva and an absolute superstar like he is at a current Barca.
He wasn't wawing with his hands to his teammates to get the ball in every single action like today at Barca.

Yamal and forum's post about him is a classic story which we have seen tons of times on this forum.
People are sad.
People need hope.
Barca brings them joy and hope.
Young superstars are the perfect objects to bring the hope and happiness into the lives of fans.
And so the fans are often very subjective, defensive and delusional regarding those objects of hope in the first few years.
It happened with ballhogger Neymar.
Or Dembele.
I have said after 2 matches that Dembele is dumb as fuck, and people were offending me for 2-3 years until everybody realized that: well, Dembele is dumb as fuck.

About my famous love for Rabiot, which is often mentioned here, that story started with our interest in Frenkie De Jong.
Frenkie was hailed as the savior of football and the perfect player who will bring Barca's midfield back to glory.

Guess what?
I was one of the rare posters who was not impressed with Frenkie and who was posting about some problems in his displays for Ajax and Netherlands.
As always, people called me a troll and an idiot, who doesn't understand football and how I don't understand football.

A few years later, Frenkie brought more or less nothing to Barca.

Regarding Rabiot, that spring when we were chasing Frenkie, it was said that the transfer price + sign on bonuses will be around 70-80-90 millions with an insane wages.

In that moment, Rabiot was free and benched by Psg and he wanted to come here.
So, my idea was: is Frenkie for 90m Euros really a better choice than Rabiot for free? On top of that, Frenkie also have a higher salary.

So, my two proposals were:
1. we could sign Rabiot instead of a questionable 90m Frenkie
2. or we should sign both of them.

But people replied: we don't need both of them since we have: Alena, Puig and Baby Oriol Busquets, so we are set for the next 10 years.
I replied: none of those 3 will make it and we could use a profile of Rabiot since we played with a somewhat similar type in those days in Rakitic and Vidal.

So, Rabiot for free didn't look like a such a bad deal.
But Barca fans have a specific type and they rated 90m Frenkie, Puig, Alena and Oriol over Rabiot.
And, as you see, even 6-7 years later people are mocking me for Rabiot.
But how exactly have Frenkie, Alena, Puig and Oriol developed?

With Frenkie, we got a 2:8 defeat in his first season.
Later he has lead us to two group stage KOs and defeats against everyone in Europe.

So, in hindsight, was my idea of Rabiot for free instead of a 90m Frenkie that bad?
Would we have been any worse with Rabiot instead of Frenkie in the last 6 years?

But, the same as with Neymar and Dembele, even Frenkie was a new shiny toy.
Fans, who all have issues and problems in real life, tried to find the escape through football and Barca.
And then their new shiny toy turns into an object of hope for the future and they lose objectivity.
And only start to see the problems after 3-4 years.

Regarding Yamal.
Again, do you live under the rock?
Have you ever followed patterns of human behavior?

How many young Hollywood stars turned to drugs and suicide when they were exposed to fame and money too early in their life?
How many singers had the same fate?
Why do people lose their head when they become a boss on a job?
Why do people lose their heads when they get a chance to be the lawmaker or police (Stanford prison experiment)?
There are millions of examples in every culture in every century how human's behavior often changes with power, money, fame, social status.

And then you have a 17 years old kid who is treated like a God in the last 10 months and you are totally refusing any chances for that scenario?

Btw, a few years ago I have said the same for Halilovic (hailed as the new Messi back then).
He is from my country and I wrote after a few trainings: his head is not in the right place. The kid has a bad surroundings and he has bought his own hype.
Two years later we have loaned him to Germany and he said in an interview: "I didn't come to run and defend here. I came to score goals".

Lol. A good attitude.
No wonder his career ended badly even though he had a promising start aged 17.

As always, I was called an idiot and how I don't understand what a real talent is.
As always, in hindsight, it turned out that a talent and a silky skills is one thing.
But also, there is mental strength and a good, healthy, humble approach towards money, fame, followers, social status.

Again, imo, you guys are way overrating current Yamal's mental state and development.

But hey, let's see.
Let's hope I will really be an idiot this time and Yamal will turn into a true professional who plays with 120% every match and his head isn't in the clouds due to too much money and a cult following among fans.

Btw. Bellingham also totally lost his head and bought his hype.
Remember those stupid "I'm HIM" posts (he is the man who will lead England to glory after 60 years).
Since he started to believe that he is "HIM", his form went down a lot.

Another one ruined by money, media and glory.

Real has Vinicius and Bellingham who lost their heads.
And our prodigy was exposed to fame and money way earlier than them, which is way more dangerous.

So, let's see what will happen with his head in the upcoming months.
