Barto era was an exercise in incompetence.

And a dark chapter post 2015, until about 2022, when Laporta and Xavi brought hope to the club.

Xavi winning a LL in those times will be remembered very fondly in the next 10-20 years after this golden generation unfolds. Will be looked up as LVG's Bayern stint is looked upon prior to their modern era success.

The best player in the world has usually always played for Barca/RM or a Serie A giant (Milan or Juve, sometimes Inter) when they were good.

Rarely Bayern. Rarely EPL. Never oil clubs.

The levels of incompetence barto showed should be studied in business school, all those Harvard students he lectured need to ask for a refund.

We've renewed almost the entire squad for reasonable amounts and if it wasn't for roque not working out, would have proper succession planning for the position that will need a replacement in the near future.

That's what you call management.

Which is why I can't take anyone seriously who ever spoke a positive word about barto or Rosell because for me it was obvious from day 1.

But anyways this is the yamal trend, good he's on lock for 6 more years

The disease of oil clubs and EPL is one that needs to be solved, though.

Teams like Barca or Inter (w/ Hansi and Inzaghi) would mop the floor with Europe with huge budgets and under the table salaries.
Oil clubs ruined the market (started with Russian oil tycoon Abramovich), but now the new wave of American owners that know nothing about the game step in France and Italy. England's big 6 is already taken over. It's another reckless race in which Barca, RM and German clubs (51% socios) have to compete against.

Idiots.

8 million plus a fixed 2 million raise every year, plus bonuses.

In the final year of his contract, excluding bonuses, he’ll be making 18 million net.

If anything happens, he’ll just ride out the contract until the end.

 Yes, every superstar should play for us for free, while bums like an old Busquets you'll dance off.

The fuck are you guys talking about?! I swear KingLeo has gone down the gutter lately with his takes.

Barca, who spent big for decades is suddenly a pauper that can't battle it out with oil clubs  We are still in top 5 on wage bills and this is after we trimmed lots of fat and have half the squad from La Masia.

The optimism came only recently. Going 12 months back I agreed with Xavi, when he said the club will not be competitive with Real Madrid next season. But to wave the white flag in public was unacceptable. I bet nobody expected this squad to explode the way it did under Flick.

It's not about that. It's about suddenly playing the victim when we were a notoriously big spender for the past 30 years.

Oil clubs manipulate finances. No doubt there's tons of behind the scenes payments going on.

Whatever PSG did to keep Mbappe for as long as they did.

City and their 115 pending charges.

That is achieved through decaes of football glory. The issue is PSG skipped the line via oil money. They started a new trend, Abramovich first, but PSG is the emblem for basically buying your way to the top to speed things up.

Well, we did that before it was cool, with Neymar. And who knows what are other shady Brazilian transfers a la Douglas.

Not saying oil clubs are ok, but at the end of the day it is fair game when football is so corrupt and focused only on making money.
