Even in his poor games he always brings something whether it's great late runs in the box or shots from distance.

The CAM spot is his and he can cement that once he is back.

Doesn't help much vs PSG though. You can't afford to play a 2 man midfield and have 4 offensive players. How many shots did Vitinha and Zaire Emery take vs us? Zero. Don't think either midfielder from PSG's 3 stepped in the box in open play even once. Maybe once or twice. In these matches all three midfielders are needed to do their CM role, help out build from the back and all, not much room for venturing forward.

We'd need far more a proper DM or a well polished CM than an AM vs teams like PSG.

It's what we were saying for Spain. For big games put Pedri to AMC and a double pivot with more defensive tendencies.

Pedri at AMC gives you the most mileage off the ball, better passing inclusivility with the trade off of a touch of offensive instinct.

Barca could do the same.

And as always, Xavi always saw the solutions but struggled to implement them.

With our budget it's all about getting Bernal back for latter season and Casado form back early season.

Pretty much, yea. Pedri would seamlessly alter between CM-AM in a way few could. Would also take away some of the legwork he needs to do when Casper Olmo or chaotic players like Fermin play.
