16 - Fermín López

The issue is made worse when Araujo and Gerard are poor on ball and more or less have around 2 passes they can make and panic if not on.

Kounde is poor on the ball a lot also and can makes bad decisions when pressured.

Then you have a front four who all played high up park and not one of them tried to put foot on ball and bring game up park.

It looks in last few games that Flick may be trying to take pressure off the front three legs by allowing them to stay up park a bit more and force open game if opposition dare to press.

Did it last week v Dortmund and v Leganes.

Trouble is you are asking a lot of midfield when teams still press and take that risk

Need Pedri/FDJ deep and Olmo in AM to have a chance to play like that and offer options other than down the fucking line to front three or into feet of Fermin who has one setting and loses it a lot.

Yeah, good post. Agree completely.

With Gerrard some things will have to be adjusted. The ones playing on his spaces need to do more because he is not going to become a solid player on the ball. All he can do is pick the simplest progression options.

Could be we also underestimated Dortmund based on their very poor showing in the first leg. Their performance ar home was a different level.

The good thing for Barca is there is absolutely no way Inter or anyone else play with that much pressure up the park and take the risks at back that Dortmund did.

They will be much more conservative than that as much more to lose.

More quality.. but not same full on approach.

Would have helped to have 1st leg away if we are exposed to this approach. Even if no away goal rule, home advantage for decisive match is still important.

But Inter is not going to do it like Dortmund. Different styles make different games.

Dortmund would not have done it either if not for big loss in 1st leg, but now that we lookes so bad... he need to be ready if some teams try this approach again.

🚨 Chelsea are prepared to offer €40m to sign Barcelona's Fermin Lopez this summer, with Atletico Madrid also keen on the midfielder.

40m? That's Chelsea - 95m is the minimum for negotiations.

I know how media make up stuff - Fermin was angry he got subbed, being frowny in all episodes showing Barca bench.

I wouldn't mind selling him for 50ish mill if Frenkie and the rest of our midfielders stay, we have some talent coming through and Torre gets his chance - and Gavi won't leave.
