16 - Fermín López

The problem I see is, that he's way too selfish in front of the goal. He often doesn't see team mates in better positions, if he's close to the goal he develops a tunnel vision. Yes, he scored a goal but he tried often enough. We're not that kind of a team to shoot 20 times blindly on the goal and hope one or two go in. If a player has a better position, you pass to him. That's barca.
He definitely got better over the season, but he still must work on many things. Overall view, keeping a cool head in front of the goal, improving technique with the ball are the most important ones he needs to address going forward.

Get a LW who can score goals from wide.
Put Fermin and Raph as CAM and False 9.

If we are not getting a Striker, I suppose this is the next best options.

I like that he goes for goal. Need that kind of profile.

Of course one needs to know when to pass and when to shoot. But historically, we have normally had players who would pass instead of shooting.

I like this part.

Im more concerned with his overall linkup play to be honest. We lose control there with him compared to Pedri and Olmo. But we gain a goal outlet.

It's a style thing, so I'm not sure how much of that he can add.

I don't have anything against that profile as well, on the contrary I agree many of our players tend to pass where it's better to finish. But having a bad overview and not seeing better positioned team mates is a problem, especially in games where you don't get many clear chances.
I don't say he should lose his profile, just that he needs to work on his tunnel vision.

The guy has top mentality and absolutely clutch. You don't sell players like him unless you have so much quality that he can be sold. We are not in that position. He is the new Pedro.

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
I remember when Lampard started coming through at West Ham and in his first few months at Chelsea. Exact same complaints that people have here about Fermin, West Ham and Chelsea fans had about Frank. Not good enough technically, gives the ball away too much, can't see a pass.

West Ham fans even complained that Frank only played because he was related to Harry Redknapp.

Fermank Lampez isn't a great squad player. He is a great player, period. If you know, you know.

Indeed.

You dont sell these kind of players. Performs well, gives you a different tactical approch, is your own product, and has the chutzpah that your team used to lack in the past. Nah you dont sell these type of players.

Now, if a club comes with 120m+ offer. I would have to think.
