Hansi:

“He's here at the moment. I've spoken to him, of course, and I'm convinced he'll stay. But I don't know what will happen, we'll have to wait and see. I'll be very happy when the transfer window closes.”

"I've told him what I think, but that's between him and me. Sometimes players have other ideas, and there are a lot of people around players who may know more than we do. It's a big business, I have to focus on my team. I'm very happy that Fermín plays for Barça because he's a very important player for us. Last season, he often showed how important he is. His style of play is different from others, he can help us a lot. Everyone knows that I would love to keep every player. He knows that we want him to stay."

Would he welcome it if the transfer market could be closed by the start of the national leagues? The 60-year-old: “I can't change it. There are other people who can change that. There are only two more days until we reach the finish line, so it's okay.” The question remains: In which city will López cross that finish line?

The entire quote puts this into prospective

I'm sure he can't wait for this window to be closed, focus on football, too much noise around the club this summer.

Transfer shit show
Stadium shit show ( still the great stadium in the entire universe).

Let's just play ball

I might be underrating him.

To be fair with you, I am willing to change my opinion on him. I am open to doing that. I just feel like he isn't as good as some claim on here.

It's not a slagging of Barca as a whole as they have some quality players (in the context of modern football). I just feel he's one of the weaker players in the squad technically, though as I said he has other uses such as being able to get into the box etc (from what I have watched).
Even his biggest supporters, I would include myself in it, or Bojan, know he's not the best technically. He's the most non-Masia like player coming out of the youth system.
But there's also more into footballing ability than just technique.

What he brings is something no one else brings in that 10 role.

An yet Tottenham went for Xavi Simons and spent 70M on him.

I don't agree that Barça doesn't need the money. If you look at the registration issues, a bigger sale might have helped.

However, as most here I don't want him to leave. He is a different player and offers qualities.

In the end, selling Fermin just would lower depth in squad. Does anyone think you could get a decent CB to reinforce the squad with all the registration issues the club has had again this summer?

This season is Fermin's make or break year at Barça imo. Should fight for his place. His main competitor is good when fit, but has issues staying fit. He can leave next summer or even in winter if he feels he doesn't get enough play time.

Why would Fermin go play for Tottenham? Even if he gets paid 2x, Tottenham is hardly the team you should go to when on your hypothetical top.
Because that's his level for a starting position. I'd say it is even lower than that. Aston Villa would be his level for starting every week.

I guess 40m is fine for Arda too. SInce he is a solid squad player with some contributions. Very similar situation to Fermins.

Doesn't matter. His logic was:
He is a squad player, with some contributions. Well, Arda is been in the team for the same time. Fermin has a lot more goals than him. Both are squad players. And both wont ever be a starter ahead of Olmo if fit, Rodrygo or Valverde, in at least the next 3 years.
So my point remains.
His another point of clutchness, regarding Rodrygo. That implies to Fermin too. Guy has scored simply more goals than Arda, and has scored quite a few clutch ones.

So if you have a problem with me evaluating Arda a 40m player. Take up with that guy, not me, I didn't make the rules.

That was Serghei’s take, not mine. I have made Rodrygo reference. As for you pulling out Guler, i dont get it.

Bought him for 25 , cheap as frack. 40M sounds great if he fails to impress this season. And it seems he will have all the minutes in the world to show that considering he is a starter at this point. So, no excuses for him.
