How's it going? This is a genuine question as I have not watched Barca for a while.

I see people mentioning his poor goalscoring stats. Is his all-round game any better?

I have never ever rated him as people know from earlier in the thread, but I am willing to change my mind.

I don't know what to think about this

I mean we do need a backup winger. But to splash 30m on him in our situation? How?

Are we going to be able to get Schlotterbeck? A decent striker?

I believe the experiment has clearly worked and all that is confirmed is that they intend to extend the experience - whether that means the loan, the fee and wages or what but I see no reason not to continue with the player

He's everything I hoped he would be and we still haven't seen him hit his peak yet

He's shit. Shit for the agreed signing fee and possible salary. Overrated by stats, which are mostly crosses and passes.
Shit at dribbling, shit at finishing, shit at all-round game basically. And it's easily seen in the tougher games.
There is also the possibility he starts acting up when he'll get a contract.

He knows how to strike a ball and that's pretty much it.

The problem with him is that he has a history of having one good season followed by two bad ones. Plus this is a world cup year where he is extra motivated.

Maybe try and loan him again but considering his salary and 30M or whatever... that's a lot of money for a backup in his late 20's for broke barca.

Lets just say, during the initial months, if there wasn't any Trashford in our team, we wouldn't have gotten so many points.
He was kinda instrumental to us. Then Raphinha and the whole team recovered from their injuries, so Rashy naturally became a sub.

Some folks here and I are satisfied with him.
His wages are quite high, and doesn't justify him being a backup. He has to reduce it by at least 2m.

Although I fail to find a LW that can have this kinda impact and can be had for 30m + cheaper wages. This year or next summer. I would like people to list out the names, rather than bitching about him.

So that's their.

What were you hoping and what is he showing?
you mean in terms of stats
I’m not a stat geek, I use the eye test and look at the performances & how they fit in

For Marcus, his biggest strengths apart from goalscoring is his ability to beat his marker, strength of shot & physique to not bullied but actually do the bullying…what I didn’t expect him to do was actually dribble successfully so much in the Primera

He’s a better dribbler than I expected. He runs, presses and loves being a part of the team to win. What’s not to like? Have we seen any of the stink English fans have been getting bent out of shape over wrt player? Not a one, a real professional

Then, if you actually look at his contributions via stats it’s compelling even on its own. 7G and 11A for 18 goal contributions at 30M is a market steal and there’s still half the season to go, only as a sub

30m for him is actually a good deal IF we can get him to lower his salary.

The contract is the problem here, he is on a huge contract at United and we just won't be able to afford that for a guy who is not a starter, but I would personally love to have him here, I also think he is improving game by game.

He has some intangibles and he is also learning how to do more on the ball more consistently vs his previous all or nothing style.

Let us see what happens, a lot of it will be based on what he wants, because United will happily take him back after a good season here and other clubs will be interested for 30m, if he demands to move to us and is willing to take a big pay cut it could happen.

He has to say „barca or back to united“ so UTD can just offload him if they pay him a severence payment. I would not want barca to pay him 14 million gross. So if it is not possible to reduce the wage (thats what i think), he should go back even though I think that a transfer fee of 30 million is cheap for such a player.

So you are saying we should back out of the fair agreement we already have in place,
And use cheap tactics

You must be a great businessman
