11 - Raphinha

There's definitely another shit show coming from Dembele's agent (and him in extension) next summer.

Just don't bother.

I would give Dembele's agent one chance next summer. If he starts with his shitshow again, just move on.

But the first out of our wingers that needs to go is Ferran. For sure.

Zaha would be the Depay replacement squad position wise. Only difference is A) he suits Xaviball more and B) he has the chance to become first option for the left side.

About Raphinha, nice cameo and smart goal. Xavi needs to use him better.

I will die on this hill, but he's so much better than Dembele. Bit reactionary posting this now, but that's how I always felt.

Not as fast and agile (and even that's debatable), but infinitely more smart in his play and actually being able to finish. Taking that over mindless pace all day long.

Raphinha is the better off ball runner.

For all Dembele's speed, it always seems to be when he has the ball. When does he use his pace to make diagonal runs or smart runs without the ball?

They both make plenty runs but our midfielders don't throw the pass often, you can replay this game and you'll see that too.

Need to avoid that by selling Dembele next summer while we still can. Can't be bothered to give him another extension...he's just not worth it.

Dembele or Raphinha would be starting materials for Chelsea at their rw but the competition between them is still good for us IMO as it puts them on their toes plus they both offer different flavors.

Let's not forget that we'll be fighting for La Liga and Europa after the world cup, hence plenty of games so we need as much quality players as we can get.

Another interesting fact is that Dembele has 12g/a in 20 games with higher conversion rates from his shots than Raphinha who has 6g/a in 18 games, plus Dembele also has a higher average accurate passing compared to Raphinha (in the last 5 years, though Raphinha's passing accuracy really increased this season) plus higher shots on target yet there seems to be a consensus here that Raphinha is outrightly better than him in those departments, and not just better but outrightly better. Cmon guys, They're both good IMO, but they still have consistency issues.

I still think it'll be easier to sell Dembele from the two by the end of this season as he would have one year left in his contract, plus probably request a wage increase

The sad thing he makes those runs all the time and all the time he is been ignored by biscuits and Co for the lack of initiative and the predominant inertia attitude of the club which is based on safe 10 meter passes.

Tottaly agree.

They didn't rewatch game how Bayern destroyed us with 2 simple passes.

Said it before.

Fucking go Pedri/FDJ sitting more as a two and let Raphinha play AM at times.

Suits that more than touchline winger role.

--------Pedri-Frenkie
Dembele-Raphinha-Ansu
------------Lewa

Would be worth a try vs smaller opponents. Ironically it means Frenkie can play his double pivot where he excels and we get Dembele + Raph on the pitch at the same time.

Raphinha would be very ineffective at AM imo. Even more so than as a touchline winger in Xavi's system.

He needs to be RW, but more inside, in combination with overlapping RB making option to pass and block one defender.

But we don't have RB at all.

In ideal scenario we get beast LW,who plays on the line like Leao,so Rapinha can be more inside on oposite wing.
