The bolded part shit never works like that. Teams sometimes benefiting from laisure time is the same dime a dozen, when they actually suffer from it. Generally every coach would want their team to be on constant above average competitiveness mode using whatever methods. Neither being too rested or too exhausted is ever optimal.
