but even if we go with the neymar comparison.. firstly they came too early and secondly, neyboy was flashy and all Brazilian but had the @@ to support his stance.

Eh.
Not sure what people want him to do.
Barely touched the ball and when he did there was simply no outlet in the midfield to combine with or someone able to make a run in behind since it takes Lewandowski a leap year to get going.
he should stop whining at every strong tackle, wrong decision or anything going against him for starters. this is entitlement. he plays at Barca at 18 and should run his ass off (like rafa did) to cover in defense, he is uninterested in it like he is 38 yo messi in Miami. then it's the social media attitude. should we continue with what he does wrong or focus with those who enabled him to.

Yamal is a great great talent but now he is a victim of Barca'a shortcomings.

Look at his RB support. Awful. In fact he has to be isolated all game and do it himself.

Lewa missing half the season. Not ideal.
Raphinha his partner all year last season missed half the season as well.
Ferran is limited
Fermin is limited

Out of many issues with the team and squad I put him among the lowest.
Improve the team and squad first and then see if something with him also changes.

agreed. but the attitude he is developing is part of the core problem. the players are entitled with nothing to back it up. it's an organisation issue dating back many years.

Offered an easy goal to Torres in the first minutes then the team basically disappeared. Physically Chelsea is way stronger than us.

Cucurella might look like a Clown but defensively he is the best LB in the world right now along with Nuno Méndez.

Yamal need a RB who can play football behind him not a fucking useless Kounde.

How Maresca can allow guy like Estevao to central more to recieve the ball while Barca make sure Yamal has to hug the touchline all the time, even when he has zero support and opponent always has defenders on him???

Is this how you use your best/most creative player?

Maresca prefers a slow possession based buildup similar to Pep.

Flick prefers vertical fast Football with constant progressive passes. Flick likes to get the ball to the attackers early.

Completely different philosophy.

Can easily say which style Yamal will play better.

With Flick's style and his hug the touchline role, Yamal mostly has just two options: either he goes solo or plays through ball/cross forward. Even worse that he has shite RB behind and no support whenever he faces opponent's defenders.

Imagine 2009 Messi wasn't allowed to move to central more and played with Kounde instead of Dani, wouldn't be half player of his ability.

Tough to say.

When you recieve the ball centrally you have no room or time to get going. Opponents will smash you right away. There's pressure from every direction and you need incredible spatial awareness and sharpness in tight spaces. Ideally you need to be shorter and quicker over short spaces than Yamal (like Messi was).

When you recieve the ball out wide and cut inside you get a lot more time and room to get your run going and to gather momentum with the ball. On the flank, the position of your opponents is a lot more predictable.

It's tough to explain but if you have played in these positions at a semi decent level, you'll get what I'm saying.

I agree, Kounde has gone completely missing this season, no backup for Yamal and then Yamal gets marked by two players, minimum. How the heck is he supposed to make a difference?

Yamal showed that he can go between flank and central with ease. He is comfortable in central and he will get more options and choices.

What he needs now is team's tactic to allow him to play that way.

This is correct.

Receiving the ball centrally is far, far harder than receiving it on the wing. If you are in the centre you have to receive the ball with your back turned to the goal meaning you don't see the position of the defenders behind you, and unless you check your shoulder quickly you don't know immediately where the space is.

Meanwhile it is the most congested area of the pitch so defenders can quickly press you.

On the wing you are facing the game so you know where everyone is already.

What he needs to do is simplify his game a bit. If he can't dominate some of the higher tier defenders 1 vs 1, then he needs to release the ball quicker, and work a bit harder off it.

This solo act with him making runs and taking players on is only good if it works. If not, it's costly, and can lead to many turnovers. But imo, it's not that bad that he is receiving some healthy dose of realism this season so far. That's what happens when you make a name for yourself, you're no longer the surprise kid and you get the full top player treatment. And this makes everything more difficult.
