Yamal is the team best player and most creative one. If you want more chances to score then Yamal must have the ball and space.
Thing is Hansi uses Yamal too strictly as a hug the touchline winger. He can dribble from flank but every teams will put 2 or more players on him. Look how Chelsea effectively cut all pass to Yamal because they know Yamal's position.
Did Rijkaard use Ronaldinho as a hug the touchline winger? No. He allowed Dinho to move freely to recieve the ball and create the play.
Yamal is the same type player.
That's irrelevant how Rijkaard used Ronaldinho.
Back then everyone played 442, so our 433 was a revolution and teams didn't have an answer to it.
The same with Mourinho's Chelsea 433 in EPL.
Or later with Pep who has lifted 433 possession game to a whole new level.
So, in some eras in football some tactics are just way overpowered and you can dominate even without Goats.
In the current era of football there is no clear "Meta formation" like 433 vs 442 in the past since everyone plays 433 or 4231 for the last 10 years.
Or lately 3421 to counter 433/4231.
The new evolution in football is a faster version of Rijkaard's or Pep's football.
So, teams use the similar principles but with a more direct approach and trying to create quick transitions or counters whenever possible instead of our slow, sterile possession football around 2017-2022.
So, in numbers, it looks something like this:
1. if we'll play slower paced possession game with Yamal in the centre, we'll create 8 shots per game but we'll create weak chances through the middle, the opponents will overcrowd the middle area around their box and against stronger teams we will hit the wall over and over and struggle to stretch their defense and score.
Yet, Yamal will be on the ball all the time and he'll probably have more assists.
So, Yamal's individual stats in terms of key passes would rise but the team's results would decline.
2. on the other hand, if we'll play faster, more direct possession football with wingers who stretch the defenses, we will create 15 shots per match and better chances.
But, Yamal will be less on the ball in terms of passes and creation.
** but even Messi played as a RW in 2015.
When he moved to the center in 2016 and later, he has improved his individual stats and amount of touches but the whole team was less dangerous and we were easy to neutralize in central areas.
The era of dwelling on the ball through central areas are finished and the opponents have figured out the ways to neutralize it years ago.
About Yamal, he won't even get close to Neymar's level with how his career is developing.
He may end closer to Adriano or Robinho, and being finished at the age of 21-23 if he'll continue this way.
Further, athletes are on the peak of their pace till the age of 21-22-23.
Regarding Yamal's provocations on social media, I am seriously concerned that he will lose his mind in a few years.
Yamal seems to have Cristiano Ronaldo's syndrome.
He loves himself and talks too much.
But Cr7 was at least delivering goals in key european matches.
In short, it seems that Yamal has very high expectations in his head.
Yet his footballing skills, mental state, injuries, poor pace, opponents figuring him out = are working against his development.
His mental state might take a huge dip in upcoming 1-2-3 years and we'll see what will happen.
Whether he will become depresses, fight with everyone, asking to leave the club etc.
It doesn't look like a story with a happy ending in the future.
