The team is going to be built to get best out of him for good of team as a whole.

Not really. Flick's system is so vertical and transitions so fast that Yamal gets a lot of time and space on the ball every game.

You can't afford to triple mark an individual when you're playing against a Hansi Flick team. It's suicide.

One of the biggest reasons why Flick is a great coach. His system doesn't allow that shit often. You can do that against a static sluggish system with weak patterns of play.

Transitions are key to Flick Barcelona and the reason we scored so many goals last season. If we want to slow down the transitions as a way to minimize turnovers and avoid end to end action due to our shaky defense, that's wise and a legitimate way to approach our issues. Sacrifice players like Raphinha for more control, and better defense. But the pressure will be heavily on Yamal then.

You want the best out of Raphinha, Rashford... fast transition football is the way to go at it. Slowing down the game will benefit Yamal more, and limit other players.

No one want to slow down game for Yamal. He is the best player Barca have on the break and with space left in behind.

He is Barcas best player by a fair bit and probably best in world.

There is not a team in world that wouldnt take Yamal and build an team to get the most from him they could.

The verticality of this system is made possible thanks to 1. the high line/pressing and the artificial transitions that arise from it and 2. line-breaking passes from defense into midfield, not any Kloppean "forward-ball verticality," at core this is still a Barca system that will circulate the ball more or less safely in the final third before it can pull the trigger. No long balls, no second ball tossups, rare crosses.

We could mix it up theoretically. Start with plan A which is good old Flick ball, and if game goes well and result suits us, Lamine could drop in a 10-like role and this means defensive players will not push as high, but would pass the ball to Yamal and keep more eye on the defense. Some sort of counter attacking football in transitions closer to MSN era.

But when fresh legs and everything Yamal has to run with the action without looking to get on the ball quickly. He does this sometimes. Drops to get on the ball when he could instead trust tue ball carrier in space and make a run for a better position. It is not a good habit.
