A club comes to you and says due to circumstances, I think it's best for us to go our separate ways.

You do what Martinez and Gundogan did and leave.

You don't do what mats and de jong did, which is hang on for dare life
Did Martinez and Gundogan have 4 previous years of reduced wages and 3 upcoming years of raised wages to make it even?

They both magically faced these "circumstances" when their increases were coming due. I hope you're just as open to throw away money you've earned the next time someone tries to take it away.

The mega contract was signed before my injuries. FYI.

Now let me mooch for 3 more years 🤣🤣🤣

😇
The "mega" contract that reduced his wages to 6m/season? He was supposed to get his mega contract in 2020 but then Barcelona's financial meltdown occurred and he got a big fat deferral instead. Then when that came due, he helped the club again with a 2023 extension that further reduced his wages and pushed his deferals to 2025.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. His chutzpah is top kosher. We seem to become to shmaltzy about that. That goy only cares about his gesheft and shekels in da pocket. No shame or aspiration.

He’s 33, and the few aspirations he has left in his career revolve around the World Cup. Yet here you all are, pressuring him to commit to being sidelined until January, knowing full well he’ll be stuck in limbo on the bench, unable to secure a move in the winter window. All for a surgery that took him less than 90 days to recover from the last time.

The club only cares about the money in their pockets. They couldn’t care less about the sacrifices players have made for them. No shame from the club or the fans.

What sacrifices did Terrorist do?
The only sacrifice i see is FC Barca holding on to this dud, because we are especially sentimental (shmaltzy) about our players and don't let them go in time, after which they become burden, or as some people here love to utter, amigo..

The same sacrifices were made by all the scapegoated veterans you all constantly complained about: a mix of pay cuts and deferrals. Without those sacrifices, the club would've been in the trash years ago.
If the club wasn't so mismanaged they wouldn't have to deal with these burdens. Instead they make a circus out of being incompetent.

If a club says you need to go, you look like a loser hanging on.

If he left, almost all our current FFP issues would have been solved two years ago, with him being pretty easy to replace.

I Don't know if he'd do something similar to what mats is doing now, under similar circumstances, but I suspect yes.

Club never told De Jong they want him to leave, or well they might have but his manager told him otherwise.

So they let him decide and he rejected Man Utd’s offer.

For some reason they were far more careful with him.

Then he should have left this summer as the club wanted initially and he could have done this whole thing at his new club.

It’s not our own problem what his aspirations are. He was told he was not a part of our plans before he returned to training and started having pain again.

Yea I meant before flick or even Xavi after he proved himself to be useful.

I think it was the levers summer, the club was pushing him out hard.
