"The last few months have been particularly difficult for me, both physically and personally. Like every player, my top priority after an injury was always to get back on the field as quickly as possible. I wanted to help the team and do what I love most: compete. A lot has been said about me in recent weeks, some of it completely unfounded. That's why I feel it's necessary to respectfully but clearly state my version of events," wrote the goalkeeper, who is currently sidelined after undergoing back surgery at the end of July.

And further: "I would also like to clarify – following some speculation – that all contract signings and contract extensions for the club were completed before my operation. Therefore, at no point could I have assumed that my unfortunate situation with the repeat surgery I had to undergo was necessary for the registration of other teammates, whom I deeply respect and with whom I look forward to sharing the locker room for many seasons to come. Any other interpretation seems both unfair and inaccurate. Throughout my career, I have always tried to behave professionally, respectfully, and with dedication to the crests I have represented. I feel a deep connection to FC Barcelona, this city, and its people, who have supported me for so many years. My commitment to these colors remains unwavering.

In conclusion: “I understand that difficult times can lead to tensions, but I am confident that we can resolve this situation constructively through dialogue and responsibility. I am fully prepared to work with the club's management to clarify this matter and obtain the necessary approval. Many things may change, but one thing will never change: I love you, Culers!”

A club comes to you and says due to circumstances, I think it's best for us to go our separate ways.

You do what Martinez and Gundogan did and leave.

You don't do what mats and de jong did, which is hang on for dare life

De Jong didn’t do anything wrong. He wasn’t as bad as Ter Stegen was in those European matches and I really think it is unjust what happened to him that summer.

Likely there is more to it than what he said.

He says the signings were made before he decided to undergo surgery at the same time. The club should have told him that he was not in the future plans and that he should look for a new club.

At least that is what should have happened. who knows what that fat fool is doing though.

If a club says you need to go, you look like a loser hanging on.

If he left, almost all our current FFP issues would have been solved two years ago, with him being pretty easy to replace.

I Don't know if he'd do something similar to what mats is doing now, under similar circumstances, but I suspect yes.

This is only going to get worse after Ter Stegen comes back. Flick will just tell him to stay at home and MATs is going to complain to the media.

I hope this drama not going to affect the morale of the players and make the players question Hansi Flick :/

Took him a few days, but he finally understood that going against the club was a bad idea. Now this statement to try defuse the situation and save his club legacy.

"I love you culers" Yeah, but not so much as to give a speech as captain.
"I'm fully willing to collaborate with the club" Why now, why not before? What changed? Your anger left you or did you start to fear the club's lawyers?
"Deep affection and commitment to FC Barcelona" But not so much as to support the club in Milan.

Good words, most likely written by his agency. But the truth is always between the lines and that is, he finally understood he'll lose if he continues that path. If he unblocks his report now, then we can see this statement as an apology and move past it.

.........with whom I look forward to sharing the locker room for many seasons to come.

This part is what caught my attention. He still has zero intention to leave.

Man realised his situation is untenable so rolls out in his signature style verbose statement in Blaugrana colors in a desperate attempt to try and appease the fans and salvage his position at the club. Its always been about him never the club.
