Reports say MATS has been stripped from the captaincy
A logical step. His behaviour since getting fit before the Milan game was unworthy of a captain.

- He put himself before the team by demanding to deregister Tek, who had a big part in reaching the semis and put himself without any match fitness back into the goal in the CL semis and demanded this publicly to build up pressure.

- He spat on the fans by refusing to give the traditional captain speech in the end of the season, because he was salty that Pena got his last game instead of him.

- His ego can't handle the truth, that the club replaced him and is now actively working against his own employer. He announced a 3 months recovery time even before the surgery and after the report says 4-5 months, he blocks it being send to LaLiga, so Barca can't profit from it.

Such a person can't be a captain anymore, no matter how many years he's in the club. He decided to spit on the club, on his legacy and now the club acts back. This was only the first step. He chose the war, now have fun and good luck.

Ah GK. Ok. Wasn't that season Lewandowski lead scorer of the league? That must have played a big part also. Wasn't our defense the best at stopping the opponent from creating big chances? Yes it was. Many factors there. Including Raphinha's clutch goal contributions in 2nd part of the season in all those close wins.

Does Stegen also get the biggest contribution for us going out early in CL, in the groups? One of the worst CL results in the last 20 years?
Yes Lewa scored a lot of goals. The defense was okay, but they still struggled quite a bit at times. If you remember correctly, we won a ton of games by a slim margin, often 1-0 or 2-1 etc and he played a huge part in that. Stegen bailed out the defense regularly that season in the league, he was massive. Defensive stats would of been average at best if he wasnt making tons of important saves all season long.

I dont even rate him that much, but he was indeed huge that season in league. Pretty much the only season he was impressive.

We agree though, like I mentioned, he is dog shit in 90% of big matches.

Laporta and the board could have handled this differently instead of turning the whole thing into a circus. Club's image is in the mud and dressing could become unstable.

In short:
Laporta inability resulted being desperate to register players and using Catalan cheap mercenaries to blame it all on Ter Stegen.
Every club uses this rule to register new players, if one is injured for more than 4 months. Last season, it was used 8 times. But only one player in LaLiga's history blocked this, how is that Laporta's fault? Which club wouldn't have been enraged, if one of their own players blocks a perfectly normal and valid rule because of being offended?
