Too much is being made out of this guy, even for preseason standards. Who gives a shite what Stegen does at this point? He'll either stay and collect his paycheck while being a paid tourist like the worst of the worst that passed through this club, or he'll leave and at least remain a starting keeper at a lower level much closer to his ability.

IMO that he is malingering yes he has a problem but not that serious and the pain could be managed with pain killers and physio.... the operation wasn't on his mind

To be honest, if he knows he's on the out and will not play, it's better for him he does the surgery now, and look for an exit in the winter.
That 3 month statement was just him being bitter, but not the end of the world, and nothing we should spend much time on. The doctors determine his recovery time, not the player.

LL decide FFP, but they have to follow the rules as well. Medical doctors establish how long a player is out, it has nothing to do with player's hopes.
The only thing the club did and can do is not play him, leave him out of the match squad, and fine him for any breaking of the rules. That's about it. His little stunts and moans should be ignored if they can't be penalized financially.

At the end of the day he has a contract. Should he leave money on the table just because some fans don't want to see him anymore and club want to get rid because a cheaper option was available?
