1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

The club cannot force him to leave anyway so if he want to stay then he can do that. Other players have.

But what he cannot do is bitch and whine if they tell him he will be the #2 or #3 GK.

He's within his rights to stay and collect his salary, but he need to stay professional if he's really told he's not counted on anymore. Barca couldn't give a shit about his World Cup aspirations and him finally becoming Germany's #1.

If he stays then the risk is him being the #2 or #3 depending on the club's plan unless he wins the first choice spot on merit.

Basically you gotta deal with it if it doesn't go your way. Even if the consequences are him losing the starting spot for his national team.

If he has more acts of poor discipline we should hand him fines. He can stay if he likes, if he behaves. If he causes problems in the team or ego-driven tantrums there's various tools we can use to cut that shit down. Just train and behave yourself. If you don't play, you're not good enough. End of the story. Team just had its best season from peak MSN days while he was out. He should read the signs, it's time to go.

You can never be sure it's the club running a smear campaign or the media just jumping on a very easy story to write. I imagine it's the latter. First the club needs to finalize Garcia (even if its 99% done), then sit down with Stegen.

Why exactly is the club's fault that he acts like an entitled shamless piece of shit? He had protection for 10 years, now all are finally seeing the truth about him.

This is nowhere similar like the smear campaign about FDJ a couple of years ago.

Making him the club captain and giving him lots of power?

I don't know who is going to take a 33 year old keeps off us with high wages and a recent injury.

Even if we allow him to leave on a free he's not getting paid what he gets here.

The smart thing to do, would have been to tell Tek thanks and let him go.

Then go into the season with Joan and Mats and let them battle it out.

Now if we sign Joan, we'll likely entire the season with 3 keepers.

Not so sure about that... you don't want a player sulking all season.
If he has real sway in the dressing room then it can potentially derail your season.

I don't know if the current squad respects him BTS but it could be a big problem and ruin the squad morale.

You'll see leaks about formations, tactics and arguments every other week in the media.

Tek is the insurance policy.

If ter Stegen sticks around and isn't the starter he will request to leave himself in January.
