Meh it’s a smear campaign to force him out

I don’t believe a word of it personally the board also did it to Messi

“ I was hoping Messi would offer to play for free”
-Laporta

Knowing full well this isn’t possible

Are people lip-reading or something?
I can't seem to figure out what they are talking about, though.
Yeah, I don’t know how people figured they are talking about ter stegen. Would seem to me they would just try to enjoy festivities and then talk about it in office.

Seems like Barcatimes special.

edit: after having been provided more context, it might be that why they’re talking about is related to Ter Stegen. There was supposed to be a speech towards crowd and in the moment refused.

Might aswell be talking about Flick eating that last Lobster on the dinner table, and Fatporta wants to deduct money for that.

Owh wait…there was supposed to be a speech. And Ter Stegen had an important role as captain. And he refused.

If that is true then the video might be actually them discussing it.

Sadly it looks like another shameful campaign driven by the club to get rid of a player. I don't know if Laporta is behind it, but I most certainly trust Deco would love to free up ffp with MAtS' salary for new signings.
It's no coincidence, that many reporters started to shit talk him at the same time. Every 3 days a new story to present to the public to make his stay as uncomfortable as possible. Why the hell they started to talk about the "speech" thing now? And not to forget that nobody spoke to the fans anyways, so truly a nothing story again.
Feels exactly the same as with Frenkie.

PS: I just hope the fans will feel alright, when the next time a player wants to leave. Because if the club can push a player out, a player should be able to push himself out the same way. We're not hypocrits, right? RIGHT?

This happens everywhere in football. All the time. It's nothing new.

Every club uses their media connections to try to push a player out and stories that might be half-truths get published at an appropriate time when the club needs it.

Not saying all the stories are true, but I'm sure there's some truth behind some of it. And why haven't the press reported it earlier? Well because like I said they are connected to the club that protects them from such stories being publicized until they don't feel like protecting the player anymore.

It's the ugly, ruthless side of the business. Always been that way. Why do you think big media outlets suddenly have inside stories about a players' behaviour in England, Italy, Germany just after they left or are on verge of leaving their clubs? 3000 words articles published within two hours. They sit on that info for a long time.

And whenever a player want to leave Barca we let them leave 99% of the time unless we come to an agreement. We're not a club that holds our players hostage.

Want to leave? Come back with a good enough offer and you can leave.

Chelsea seem to know how to push out their players well.

Why can't it just be a case of telling Stegen agent to find another club as Joan/Tek are our 1/2 next season.

No need for any other nonsense stories and press releases.

With that said, thanks Stegen for the Copa del Rey and SuperCopa win.
