1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

This is painful just to read, horrifying when remembering. This much thrashing shoukd be cv for top european club in last 30 years, but here we are in less then a decade
Inter scored 7 past us this season also. But since our forwards scored more and managed to keep the loss respectable there is no mention of a "trashing".

That and of course the fact Tek was in goal not antichrist Ter Stegen.

Yeah he wants to get this Garcia bullshit dealt with.
What's to deal with. A keeper with better stats by far to him in last 2 years is brought due to market opportunity, as he is much younger. Beat him and start instead.

Moaning for what? Not getting the starter position by default? Welcome to normality.

Inter scored just as much against us as Villarreal did in Ter's comeback. That gives you a sign of what things would have been like with Ter playing under Flick's super aggressive, super attacking high line, every week.

Would probably be eating a manita every 3 weeks.

Tek was average vs Inter. Saved the shots any decent keeper would have saved also. Not one big save. Garcia is signed because neither of Tek or Stegen showed they have the ability to elevate our defense by making important saves regularly. Liverpool had 1.7xG vs PSG in England, and Donarruma kept a clean sheet. This is what is needed.

A very talented keeper to bail out our defense more often.

Benfica and Madrid examples where Tek and Pena kept a clean sheet with a total of over 3xG faced. We need this but on a consistent level.

Donmarumma vs Liverpool and Arsenal conceded 1 goal from over 5xG cumulated in those return legs. With a keeper like Stegen, PSG doesn't make the final this season in CL.

PSG concede 2 goals early from those chances Donnarumma saved early in France, and the whole tie could have seen a very different outcome. Donnarumma produced some top class saves, PSG scored from a personal execution by Fabian, and all of a sudden Arsenal's spirit got deflated.

The same Donnarumma who gifted us three goals in the 1st leg last season?

The same Donnarumma who was dropping other clangers in the CL KOs?

We can spin it however you like. But we didn't lose all these years in the CL because of the GK. Just like we didn't lose this year because of the GK.

Everyone has a selective memory when it comes to goalkeepers.

This story that most in here want to believe, that somehow Ter Stegen is a shit GK and was kept here all these years because of favouritism doesn't make any sense.

I'm all up for good competition and I think Garcia in the squad is way better than having Pena or Tek.

That's one way to look at it

Other is to say they fought like warriors against a top European side and details seperated them from a victory

It cant be a trashing when you are better than your opponent over two legs lol

Yes, but Donnarumma reedeemed himself big time. Stegen instead of doing the same, he moans. Gigi is also a Euro winner. Different levels. Donnarumma is only 26 btw, and now Euro and CL winner.

Things can change, but probably not for Stegen. Too much damage in CL for him to come back from. Also a soft character who lacks that competitive edge. Someone who is competitive doesn't cry about competition. That would be against his nature.

Some are cut our for the big levels, some are not. Still waiting for Stegen to bail out the team big time in CL. Didn't happen and most likely never will.

His biggest bragging game is a 2nd leg with Bayern 10 years ago, after MSN took care of them in the first leg, after a match Bayern had zero shots on target in. That match in Germany he conceded 3 goals in. As said... levels.

I don't understand this whole discussion. Garcia is coming, and Ter Stegen is currently on the bench. He doesn't need to be told anything else. If he wants to leave, fine; if not, fine too. He has a contract, and it's his right to demand the money. Demanding a starting place is not his right. All this hate towards Ter Stegen is so bad; it shows the haters' own weakness. Ter Stegen isn't good enough, but he'll get what he's contractually entitled to. If he wants to play in the World Cup, he has to go.

What are you talking about. He is the one showing that he is bothered by us signing a new keeper. He could have said he welcomes competition, and let the best keeper secure the no1 spot.

His whole demeanor reeks of insecurity.

Imagine Raphinha comes out and appears bothered that the club is interested in Diaz. I would think a lot less of him if he did that.

He has a history of expecting the club to not question him. Did the same with Bravo. Couldn't cope with Bravo being no1 ahead of him. Couldn't become no1 when Bravo was here either. Weak, soft mentality. And nothing exposed that faster than big CL games when the team needed a good keeper.

If both Tek and Garcia will be at the club, we'll see if he had the guts to claim back the no1 spot or not. To do that, you have to save tough shots consistently. Nobody expects miracles, but running your mouth does little for your case. The managers don't trust you, it's clear. Go to work and prove them wrong. Then fair play, you at least show you have a decent pair of balls.

He actually said that.

It is the club that keep leaking he will have to go out and the decision already made.

He said that among other things. If the club is leaking he will have to go out then he's really not rated by our staff.

I agree with the decision to push him out btw. Makes total sense. They probably don't trust he has the ability to contribute, and then he'll just be a big wage for a 3rd keeper that will likely just sit out all games.

And keeper is really the last position where you need 3 players for.

Unlike some in here, I dont really care about LaLiga and how the Terrorist fared in it.
Since he is here we have won 6 of the 10 laLigas. So clearly it's not a metric I want to look at.
What I want is the UCL and we not getting humiliation and the Terrorist has been one of the biggest factor in those.
Not a single memorable UCL match he has had in his 10 years. Its only misery.

I care about La Liga a lot. For all his supposed good level in La Liga, Stegen won Zamora only once in 11 years... during a season Barca was at its most defensive oriented version.

Madrid will get stronger. They can make over 90 points next season.
