yeah, from cowman to ole. jesus wept

psg or city are the in top 3 teams right now. he'll win enough with them and earn lots of money.

it would be more impressive if he won the PL and even CL with utd than with city

and it's not that unrealistic. utd have a decent squad

this no video game son. even ronaldo made the wise decision to go to the best club in a weaker league.

messi has nothing to prove to anyone. the best of all time

difference is ronaldo had already done it in the PL

messi doesn't have to prove anything, but nothing changes the fact that going to city is not as impressive as going to Utd. city were quadruple bound last season. messi has always had PL critics so going to the weaker utd and winning is much more impressive for his legacy

I do not think he is going to City.

But Guardiola, as a Barcelona fan and former player and manager, said: "It looked like it finished well in terms of him continuing with Barcelona.
"It was a surprise for everyone — me included. The president was clear today. I didn't speak with the player or the president so I don't know what has happened but as a supporter of the club I would love for him to have finished, but today the club needs to be sustainable and what happened in the last year was really not good.

As a fan, I have incredible gratitude for the most extraordinary player I have seen in my life, for the titles he helped to Barcelona, to help me personally, to help me to go to Munich and then to England.

More than that, the incredible amount of feelings and actions in front of the TV and watch what he can do with the ball, with his mates in one football game.
"Day by day, game by game, every three days he made something unique. All I can say is thank you so much to bring Barcelona to another level, to allow Barcelona to dominate the world for a decade, and I wish him the best for the last few years of his career.
"He will not be forgotten. Hopefully one day we can say the best every because he deserves it. But if president Laporta arrives in this situation, he should do it unfortuantely because someone before didn't do well."

Norwich were so poor defensively though. City won 5-0 in second gear. Dont think City will really get going until October November. Expect Liverpool to start strong this year, maybe City catch them in the second half of the season.

MC are relentless around the box. Their positioning is so good that they recover many blocked shots and cleared balls and get multiple chances per attack. So even if they miss, they have a good chance to score on the followup. That's going to be a nightmare for any defense.

Spectacular running by Mahrez for his goal.

I read a report in a local Norwich publication- cannot remember which one - so I claim no ownership of this comment.

The writer analysed Norwich v City, but the fouls. City fouled twice as much. When you consider Norwich low time in possession they were fouled every couple of mins.

They fouled City with a much longer period between - City high time in possession and Norwich committing half the number of fouls.

Norwich fouls half a dozen or so, were spread around the pitch. City fouls concentrated deep in
Norwich half, stopping the break. Only a couple in the half way line, none near their box.

City players fouled no more than two per player and spread across the team.

I did this kind of analysis back during Pep's Barca and was surprised to see the same pattern. When you assess fouls per minute out of possession, Barca usually fouled more than the opposition Also, usually high up the pitch, more often than not, part of the pressing game.

Makes sense Pep targets this. It offers the best chance for a goal.(way better than winning it in the midfield or own defensive area)
