Weird one - I still think Ederson has plenty to offer. The lad obviously wants the move.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

As I said in that thread they normally optimise World Cups for Europe, as we are seen as the 'default' main market. However, there will likely be some weird times with four games a day.

    Euro 2024

Cheers, and yeah as I say my bias might be informing that pick lol. I hope the Swiss do it though.

Mad sleeping times for sure. Imagine what the World Cup will be like.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I am gonna try to watch it too my man. Staying up til 4 am is a big ask though given it's only 4pm now and I have been awake since this morning. Plus I should be playing football at 1.30 pm tomorrow (maybe not, knee is a bit sore) so will need some sleep in between.

    Matthijs de Ligt

Ten Hag is clueless to be fair. As for De Ligt - I used to rate him but he's clearly never gonna fulfil whatever potential he once had. He's 25 now and has to get his skates on if he's ever gonna be a top defender (doubtful).

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I don't really care about Messi in Miami - haven't watched a single game of his there. However, I know he was a key figure in them winning the Leagues Cup. And, before he joined, weren't they right near the bottom of the league (s) (I know they do or did Eastern and Western conferences in the...

    Cr150

They aren't easy of course, but they're still the easiEST way to score given that, even if you had no involvement in winning it, you can score a penalty if you are your team's designated taker. Penalties can also come from nothing ie where there was no threat to the goal. And with VAR...

    Euro 2024

Good point. I would have them over Simons or some others. However, they're trying to fit all the best performers in in weird positions, like Simons as a DM.

    Cr150

I don't think that's something to respect. I think it reflects very badly on him that he hasn't retired yet when he's clearly finished. And that he's still destroying Portugal's chances of winning things through his own selfish need to steal the limelight. I would have more respect if he...

    Cr150

To be fair wasn't that like two penalties or something lol (didn't watch the video). Neither of them hardly put in a performance for the ages. I get what you mean though that maybe sometimes someone like me is a bit too harsh on Ronaldo. But he's so hard to like or give credit to.

    Euro 2024

That looks fair enough. I am not sure I would have Kane though. Arda Guler as a false nine even though he didn't play there, lol.

Predictions for the next world cup goes here

I was a bit surprised in February when they announced MetLife Stadium as hosting the final, rather than SoFi in California. From talking to American mates (including one in New Jersey) the latter is a superior stadium, as well as New Jersey having awful transport links and transport in general...

    Euro 2024

Got this as early predictions, plenty of time to change it though. Spain 1-1 Germany (one team to win on penalties) Portugal 1-2 France England 1-2 Switzerland Netherlands 2-1 Turkey It doesn't always work out this way, but they should be quite tight games. I am probably optimistic for goals...

    England

Yeah Rice is a bit of a poor man's Rodri. I am not that big a fan of him but he performs a very important role for England.

    England

Could do that. However, I don't really think Bellingham is a deeper-lying player. I am sure he could do a job there, but in my view it is a compromise. Better just to drop him entirely and play Rice and Mainoo/Wharton. Not that it will ever happen.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

To be fair Pele - like Maradona - talked nonsense for decades. Ronaldo will likely do the same in coming years. Like others have said - being a great footballer doesn't mean you can analyse the game.

    İlkay Gündoğan

True. Cheers for the debate mate, enjoyed it.

    İlkay Gündoğan

Not too sure really. He's been a mixed bag so far. I voted neutral in the thread about him. He doesn't seem that charismatic though.

    Cr150

Fair enough then mate. You make some good points. I'd say that Ronaldo and Mbappe are similar in some aspects of their game, as coming off the left. But like you and Temp have alluded to, Ronaldo has a few more weapons like his ability in the air and superior crossing. Cheers.
