    7 - Ferran Torres

I think that just might be Xavi's philosophy. Even before he took the Barca job, he has spoken in past interviews about wanting wingers to stay wide.

La Liga | Round 32: FC Barcelona - Cadiz (0-1)

Same type of problems Barca had in the late Guardiola-Vilanova-Martino era. Teams allows Barca to have lots of meaningless possession and then get a counterattack goal. Xavi was also the main man in the midfield back then too.

    Frenkie de Jong

Unless he is nursing some nagging injury, there is no excuse for his performance today.

    7 - Ferran Torres

The team needs their big money transfers to be pretty much unquestionable successes if Barca wants to return to being the best, barring another miracle golden generation. Doesn't look good for the current board and management that their first big money signing is looking like he might flop.

La Liga | Round 32: FC Barcelona - Cadiz (0-1)

They still haven't even secured top 4. No reason at all for the team to lack motivation.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

While I admire your poetry verses, I don't think that is a standard shot that every top keeper saves. Some would, some wouldn't. Too much blame directed towards the keeper for not bailing out the rest of the team. For a while, Frankfurt were looking more likely to get their 4th of the game...

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

I haven't looked at it again, but it did seem the ball rose up a little after taking a slight deflection off Araujo's foot. But regardless of if it took a deflection or not, its not really something I consider a weak goal or fully blame the keeper for.

Hasn't been worth the 60m Barca spent on him. Looking like a dud.

The penalty goal? More of Eric Garcia's fault.

    Sergio Busquets

Hope Barca build a midfield next season without Busquets penciled in as a starter. Obviously can't replace Busquets's skillset 1 for 1, but would rather go with a different midfield structure for next year.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

the 3rd goal was a weaker one to let in. The rest of the criticism against him today is just hysteria.

    Xavi Hernández

Not a good display today, but it should be a good learning experience for Xavi as Barca manager, and also for upper management to realize that while the team was in good form for the past few months, there is much work to be done to the squad.

EL Quarter Final: FC Barcelona - Eintracht Frankfurt 3-4 agg.

Just yesterday after all 4 QFs in the CL were played, there was some optimism that Barca could certainly compete with the semifinalist teams. Still a lot of work to be done in terms of squad building.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi

The point is that you can poke holes in the resume of any top level player. I do agree with you slightly in the fact that some Messi fanboys give him all the credit but none of the blame, and some are willing to unaccept that he has been bad at PSG. However, I disagree with the notion that he...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi

well with cr7, you could argue that juventus performed worse with him than in the preceding years without him. with man utd, they still did win league titles and made a CL appearance without him. at real madrid, he struggled to win league titles. plus a strong CL campaign by Benzema and Madrid...

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi

disagree. in atleast the last 25 years, there are many other goat level players with many flaws and question marks in their resumes as well. cr7, ronaldinho, zidane, xavi, iniesta, r9, maldini, romario, or whoever else you consider in the goat tier from the last 25 years, they all have...

    Xavi Hernández

The league is over and Real Madrid are going to finish 1st, but for Barca top 4 is not secure. There are 4-5 teams in the mix for the other 3 CL spots.
  18. S

    Ousmane Dembélé

At his core, he is fundamentally just a playmaker rather than a winger taking on players and making runs in behind. Even the few games he played when healthy alongside Messi and Suarez, it was sometimes frustrating to watch him standing rather than moving to receive a throughball from Messi...

    Xavi Hernández

Barca will also still play Cadiz and Mallorca who are playing to avoid relegation. Starting from the 2nd leg of the Frankfurt game, Barca will play 4 matches in 11 days. Lets see how the team does.

    7 - Ferran Torres

Looking forward to Fati getting fit and pushing for Ferran's spot in the lineup.
