    Frenkie de Jong

Didn't Bernardo Silva confirm in an interview a couple of months ago that he was interested in moving to Spain last summer? If Man City is interested in Frenkie, wonder if a Bernardo Silva swap could come into play.

    Sergio Busquets

He is done as a starter but the club hasn't made any real move to bring a viable replacement for a few years now. Sadly, he is the best CDM Barca currently has.

    Pep Guardiola

He snatches defeat from the jaws of victory too often.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

Always a new flavor of the month when it comes to goalkeepers that this forum wants. Remarkably, the simping for Ederson and Mendy has stopped. All season long several users would go on and on about how great those two keepers were, and now not a peep. Now its just Alisson and Courtois.

    Frenkie de Jong

A good game from him, though he had that 1 bad turnover where he was dispossessed. Moved the ball better. But I think he will always get criticized here for not being the top-end, world class midfielder that everyone thought FDJ had the potential to become when he was at Ajax. And also for his...

    7 - Ferran Torres

Pretty much invisible. Nothing coming from the right side.

    Xavi Hernández

That is on the tactics by Xavi. He has the players positioning themselves in specific areas of the pitch. Leads to team looking disjointed and out of ideas.

    Ernesto Valverde

Wonder what he could have achieved if Neymar decided to stay. It was only preseason, but Neymar was looking great under him.

    Xavi Hernández

But there must be something we are missing when consecutive Barca managers refuse to even try a formation without Busquets. And the board hasn't bothered to get any alternative.

    Xavi Hernández

Agree with this. Pique is at worst the 2nd best CB on this team. At LB, Dest hasn't been any good to replace Alba and Balde isn't close to being starting material. At RB, none of the options have been good. And regarding CDM, there is no alternative DM on this team. Not an excuse for Xavi, but...

    Copa del Rey 2021-22

Would he retire if Betis found a way into the top 4 and qualify for CL?

    Sergiño Dest

Writing is in the wall for him. He is likely to be sold. Koeman's 1 real transfer just didn't work out.

La Liga | Round 21: FC Barcelona - Rayo Vallecano 0-1

The game against Real Betis will be crucial. Big work ahead for Xavi

    Frenkie de Jong

Hasn't been the guy that many believed could be a foundational piece in the midfield. A good player but he has higher expectations placed on him, partly due to his fee and wages.

    Xavi Hernández

Reminiscent of performances under Koeman earlier this season, and Xavi has slightly better offensive talent at his disposal. But he has pulled the team into the top 4 so far and had the Clasico win so that will give him some leeway until the next season.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

    Soft goal to give up.

    Xavi Hernández

Quality of play hasn't been good lately, but got a big result today. Just get top 4 and then see what can be done in the summer to improve the squad. Pretty easy schedule remaining other than perhaps the game against Real Betis.

    6 - Gavi

He has the spirit of a Jack Russell Terrier.

    1 - Marc-Andre ter Ansplant

Even if the Sociedad players had good aim and scored, they would have been an indictment of the defensive play of the team, not the keeper. Barca allowed some easy chances for the opposition in both this game and the last one too.

    Gerard Piqué

Very encouraged by reading the transcripts. Pique is someone who could be a future president of Barca. Good to see he has this type of influence in Spanish football. Need that to compete against the likes of Perez and the other power brokers at top UEFA clubs.
