CL: Round 1: FC Barcelona - Viktoria Plzen 5-1

Team did what they had to do today and that is win. The next 4 games(2 against Bayern and 2 against Inter) are the real test. Can't afford to drop to Europa League again like last year.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

That's good. Need an ice cold talisman like that who isn't going to gush over an assist against low level opposition. Barca's goal is to win titles, not win big against some Czech team. None of that happy-go-lucky, aw-shucks routine anymore.

    Gerard Piqué

Xavi threw some scraps his way in a blowout win. Still no more than the 5th CB in the pecking order.

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

His finishing used to be amazing when he first came up. Created goals out of very little. Not as amazing now.

    Karim Benzema

He should take it easy for this season till the World Cup. No need to go all out and risk injury.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

Amazing signing. Laporta hitched his wagon to the Lewandowski train and its paying off.

    Frenkie de Jong

I don't think he is adding a whole lot considering his transfer fee, wages, and hype. But he isn't a big negative either and would rather have him over Busquets for these European games.

    15 - Andreas Christensen

Not a strong 1st half. Was lucky Mosquera went high with his arm, otherwise it would've been a clean scoring chance or a penalty. Also should've closed down on the goal. Ter Stegen was too far away to collect that ball.

La Liga Round 4: Sevilla - FC Barcelona 0-3

Linesman is on crack. Obvious offsides and he doesn't even put up the flag. Midfield struggling but atleast this year's Barca has a quality front line that looks threatening on counters.

    Ousmane Dembélé

I think he should leave the finishing to others. Not his strong suit.

    Arthur

Klopp knows that if Arthur started in the 2nd leg of the 2019 semi-final CL tie, Barca would have gone through and won the CL title.

    Kylian Muppet

But Spain was also a colonial empire with many territories in the Americas.

    Jordi Alba

If Laporta and Co. negotiated the loan to Inter without letting Alba know, good on them. Alba gets easily rattled and you have to bully him like this to force him out.

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Is there any confirmation that Laporta said there could be a signing? From what I've seen, the source of that quote came from Romero and then people ran with it.

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Hoping Xavi has come to his senses and demanded a midfielder to replace Busquets. Wishful thinking but fingers crossed anyway.

    Kylian Muppet

Only Mbappe and Kante look like they will go down as all-time greats from that 2018 France Team.

    Philippe Coutinho

A precipitous drop in value. Happy to get 20 mil for a guy who cost 140+ just 4.5 years ago. Could not play in the midfield and was never going to work as a winger. Difficult to understand the logic of putting Coutinho on the wings when you already have Messi on the team. Ended up having a slow...

    Sergio Busquets

LOL-no. Barca played the way they did because Valladolid looked like relegation fodder, not because Busi bewitched them. Would rather Barca have a system and lineup that works without Busquets, especially for European games.

    3 - Alejandro Balde

From what he's shown, his passing into the box isn't too good. IIRC, think that was a weakness of his coming into last season as well. He's quick and because he is looking to make an impression, doesn't move as sluggishly as Alba.

    24 - Eric García

His weaknesses weren't tested much in this game, but he does look better physically. Good passer and made some good interceptions. Hasn't put a wrong foot forward so far in the season.
