Well we do sign there rejects

    Douglas Pereira dos Santos

I rarely see Alves working hard, he doesn't even bother to track back sometimes yet Lucho loves him. I'm not sure I'm buying that about Montoya.

    Douglas Pereira dos Santos

I hear people say Douglas is the result of Zubi's poor scouting. If that is the case then why is Lucho picking him ahead of Montoya?

    Sergio Busquets

If you read my first post which was yesterday I believe then it's you that actually agrees with me. I said the system is effecting his performances performances so what do we do. Shall we just carry on giving him a free pass and blame the system or look for an alternative. I think if we play...

    Sergio Busquets

I have a point, it may be different to yours but it's clearly there. His lack of pace is very worrying, he offers little to no protection to the defence and can only play at a good level if the other midfielders baby sit him.

    24 - Thomas Vermaelen

I don't know how reliable this is but it wouldn't surprise me. .. http://metro.co.uk/2014/10/15/barcelona-staff-begged-club-not-to-sign-injury-prone-arsenal-defender-thomas-vermaelen-4907563/

    Sergio Busquets

It probably won't but it would save us the embarrassment of watching him trying to run back with one of the opposition attackers. It's a mismatch if ever there was one.

    Sergio Busquets

I agree the tactics are clearly effecting his performances but if you move like a turtle you are asking for trouble the moment your team gets counter attacked. You can only get away with it without a security guard for so long.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

I guess that will have made Lucho's mind up about his position. He won the award based on his CB performances so he stays there. I really hope not though, I would love to see his tenacity in the middle of the park.

I still can't fathom what he was trying to do when he conceded that penalty.

    9 - Luis Suárez - v1

The complaints are things like saying Mascherano will play in the midfield and then almost exclusively carries on playing him centre half. We are so weak against set pieces that all it requires is an half decent delivery and we are in serious trouble. We are so easy to bypass in the middle of...

He must surely be up there with the best dribblers in the world right now, unstoppable in full flight.

I don't think Montoya is weak defensively. He's easily better in defense than Alves IMO. I also think the protection Mascherano gives any defense is underrated.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Let's try a back line of Montoya, Bartra, Mathieu and Alba with Mascherano protecting them. It might not work but I can guarantee we won't taken apart on the counter like we do with our other ridiculous combinations.

    Daniel Alves

Obviously, Pep played a defensive LB (Abidal) and an attacking RB in Alves and Lucho is trying the same. I mean seriously, can our coaches never think outside the box and try an attacking LB (Alba) and a balanced RB in Montoya or perhaps even Bartra. We are scared of making reasonable...

Perhaps Lucho is scared of upsetting some of the egos?

    Daniel Alves

Messi was poor but he's rarely wasteful in possession and his decision making is always extra ordinary. It's harder for Messi to perform than Penaldo whom we afford acres of space against a very slow midfield and defenders. Even then he manages he is extremely wasteful. Dani Alves was decent...

Just for not signing Benatia, heads should roll.
