    Sergio Busquets

Actually Carricks playing style reminds me of Busquets.

    Fernandinho

He's no more than average tbh. He also is a fouling machine.

It does help Madrid having no game midweek.

Lliga: (El Clasico) FC Barcelona - Real Madrid 2-1

The only way I think is to put on Xavi or Busquets, they are technically bossing the midfield with worrying ease.

Neymar is bloody awful. I'll give him that he scores goals usually but what else does he bring to our game other than losing possession. For that kind of money we should have bought Hazard.

    Sergio Busquets

It wasn't fair on Busquets but the absence of any resemblance of a physical game exposed him.

    Sergio Busquets

Then why did he try him at CB?

    Sergio Busquets

Well you make an interesting comment. The flawed tactic of playing Mascherano at CB was the consequence of Busquets being hopeless there. Pep tried him for a couple of games and he just could not cope so Mascherano was unfairly moved there.

    Sergio Busquets

Busquets being better in tight areas can be an achilles heels of his. How many times does he hog the ball in silly areas hoping the ref comes to his rescue. Busquets is much better in short 1 touch passing and his reading of the game is very good. Anything else Mascherano trumps all over him...

    Lionheart.

    Sergio Busquets

Mascherano is the best holding midfielder in the world. Busquets skills are more suited a little further forward except he has so many of the necessary skills redundant to succeed there.

    Sergio Busquets

Mascherano > Busquets any day of the week for me. Busquets is like a tortoise in the midfield. He has 2 exceptional strengths, reading of the game and 3 yards one touch passing. He runs like am old man, one v one he gets blitzed every single time.

    Sergio Busquets

Mascherano is far better suited against a counter attacking team like Madrid than Busquets, I feel. Also, he may not be as technically gifted but he doesn't hog the ball in dangerous areas either. So, there's pros and cons between the two. I don't know, I feel we are more solid with...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v3

His performance was like playing fifa on playstation. Absolutely different class and THE GENIUS! Gutted about the penalty though and people will only talk about that.

CL: Barca - Man City 1-0 (3-1 agg.)

Good team but with this lineup we can't really afford to concede set pieces or corners.

CL: Barca - Man City 1-0 (3-1 agg.)

I'm not too bothered about his ability on the ball. His main task is to stop them from scoring and I fear a mismatch if he comes against Bony. I know Bartra won't play but I think he is blossoming into Barca's best defender and a little more faith from Lucho would do wonders.

I hope Mascherano plays in midfield rather than CB. If reports are true that Bony is likely to start then it can easily become a mismatch at the back. I would pair Pique with Bartra but we shall see.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

When the opposition attacks, there's no one better in our squad at winning back possession. He should only be employed as an emergency CB and the first choice DM.

    Arjen Robben

He's so predictable, always cuts inside to his left but trying to stop him is nigh on impossible at times. Right up there with the very best dribblers in the world. Fantastic player.
