Transfers and Rumours - old thread

That would be nice, but didn't he just sign a new contract recently? I would think Chelsea will try and keep him as best they can.

Can Barca make it to the QF of the CL?

Underestimate just how poor we are? Yes I suppose they could :troll:

    David Villa

Having such an expensive player sitting on the bench can be a problem in of itself.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

For the Milan game, above all I think we need to keep the tempo high since we are (or should be :)) more threatening on the break. If I see us in the 2nd leg doing the same slow-build up play; allowing Milan to settle back into defense, I don't know how long I'll be able to watch. At the...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

When you consider the runs to the box Cesc has made, that's not a half bad choice. He scored a few goals from headers last season. Messi should probably alternate from the wing to the center, the latter which works best in a more open game, since he just get's treble marked vs teams that sit...

    Pepe

No matter what I could never be mad at Pepe, because he's such a ridiculous personality and blatant a-hole. I can't help but laugh at his play-acting every game.

    Swansea City

Luke Moore netted a silly goal to get Swans the victory. It was his first goal in over a year. Swans were fluent in the midfield as always but didn't really create any more than Newcastle, who squandered a couple shots.

    Pedro Rodriguez

Lately, Pedro has been pushing into defenders hoping to win free kicks when he should have taken it on. Don't know if his confidence is just down or what. I think he thrives when being supported by Messi & co rather than out alone, as today he looked isolated at times in the final third on that...

    Swansea City

Newcastle v Swansea on Saturday should be a great game. Depending on how high Swansea push on offense, it could be a very open game; end-to-end stuff.

    Neymar - v2

That's inevitable unfortunately. Everytime I read Goal's comments on Barca articles, I lose more faith in humanity.

    Dries Mertens

He was linked to Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea for a January switch, but all three ended up signing other forwards.

    Neymar - v2

At the very beginning he kicks the defender. That was probably it.

Different in the way they were scored but they were both legal

    Pedro Rodriguez

Yup good point. All it would take is having an assistant with an earpiece sitting behind a monitor who can quickly rewind play. Then correct the linesman, just like the referee does when talking to his assistants. It would only take 10 or so extra seconds.

Which CB would you sign for Barça?

Depending on Tito's confidence to man-manage, I think Sakho should be an obvious choice. Otherwise some smaller club will swoop him up for a great deal and reap the benefits. You hardly see big clubs conducting what most would consider excellent transfer negotiations like Swansea or Newcastle...

Blame the pundits and journos in England that artificially raise the standard of the EPL.
