    Real Madrid (old thread)

Not really. It all comes down to his performance on the pitch: Will he be a Cannavaro or a Larsson, Emerson or an edgar davids (In terms of last bit of juice transfers). Madrid will love him if he turns out to be a great addition and earns a starting spot, madrid will hate him if he turns out to...

    Mesut Ozil

10 million euros for this player would be a steal. He's 21, with a lot of projection and with a great world cup as reference. We need a bigger squad, players that allow pep to move the pieces around instead of playing with the same 12-13 players all season.

really don't see why Real needed another CB. You guys already have Albiol, Garay and Pepe in that position and the option to play Arbeloa as RB and Ramos as CB. Why not go for a reliable LB to compete with Arbeloa instead of a 4th CB?

Wasn't Mourinho going to give the canteranos a shot? Getafe must be happy with how much attention Real pays to their cantera.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

According to Sport (grain of salt) Real Madrid was ready to sell Kaka to Chelsea before he had the operation. The transfer was kept all hushed up for obvious reasons and had seen the green light from all parts involved, with the fee being close to the amount florentino payed a year ago.

Do you mind posting the source saying the money raul got was a gift and not a demand? Rodrigo to Benfica for 6 million, Madrid has a 12 million euro buyback clause effective for 1 year.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Well, let me make it easier for you: Monday's issue of Spanish paper "La Gaceta" published an article by Jose Damian Gonzalez illustrating how much of a "madridista" Raul really was. Raul's contract termination cost Madrid 8 million euros. His initial request was 12 million plus any incentive...

Isn't a team supposed to have a minimum of canteranos too?

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Doesn't real need to meet the homegrown Uefa quota? honest question The difference between this and Barcelona's transfers is simple: Real's selling their top canteranos (Marcos out, Rodrigo's next) and trying to include them as trading chips while Barcelona doesn't even negotiate for their...

Marcos Alonso to bolton. Haven't read anything about a a buyback clause. Got to love Real's cantera policy

Oh hell no. Raul and guti leaving Strengthens Real. This actually worries me more than any of Real's transfers. Lets just hope Raul leaving Madrid doesn't have the same effect it had on the National team when Luis kicked him out.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Last time i heard, Raul was asking for full compensation (salary + all incentives, around 16-18 million euros) to accept a contract termination. Any word on the financial terms in which raul would leave?

    Yaya Toure

Im sad to see him go, he's a great player, his work-rate has always been amazing and he's been a vital part of the team's acomplishments in the past 3 years. I wish him luck and all the best, he'll always be a barcelona hero. That being said, 32 million euros is a good chunck of cash that should...

    Ángel Di María

Lets hope he's sold on the cheap 1-2 years from now, just like Sneijder and Robben :)

    Ángel Di María

Its actually quite the deal, 25+5 million and no youngsters is not bad considering his buyout clause was 40. Its quite ironic of madrid to sign a winger for the same amount of money they sold Robben 1 year ago, though.

    Mesut Ozil

Sport's saying we're going to offer Hleb and Henrique in exchange of his transfer this summer, he'd then be allowed to stay 1 year before joining Barcelona. It sounds like a win-win situation for Werder Bremen: he'd stay one more year and, instead of leaving for free next summer, Werder Bremen...

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Xabi has NOT been awful individually, he's done a good job, he's had some great attributes that any other team would kill to have. The problem is that, collectively, he slows down the game and forces Xavi to play further up the pitch than he normally does . He just doesn't fit in the Spanish...

    Real Madrid (old thread)

And again, the Xabi Alonso argument was that he was not a real DM. His BEST years were with a bodyguard, playing as an organizer with some defensive responsibilities, i also pointed out i did not really care how pelegrini chose to waste Xabi alonso's abilities and that neither Del Bosque...

    Real Madrid (old thread)

What a bloody hypocrite. This coming from the man who jumped into a Xabi alonso Spain discussion, disqualifying everyone who thought Xabi should be benched with a "Busquets fanboy" tag while providing ZERO argument of his own, an act which, im sure, would never had happened had Xabi Alonso...
