    Champions League 25/26

Yeah I don't think Liverpool are as good as the hype suggests, but recent results are likely an anomaly. Even though they don't play splendid football, they will start winning again soon you'd expect. I don't think they'll win the CL, but they have a chance.

    Champions League 25/26

Fair point. I rate Rice, Saka, eze is good. Odegaard is injured a lot now and has lost form. Guys like Trossard, Merino, Zubimendi, Martinelli really aren't top class quality. They range from average to fairly good. But you wouldn't expect them to hang with the top teams in the final phases of...

    Champions League 25/26

Fair enough. I'd expect Arsenal to beat Dortmund, but of course it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion. Inter are the type of team who could give Arsenal a game, though. FWIW, it's more about the nature of Arsenal as a club (plus I am not a big fan of Arteta). If their entire squad transferred...

    Champions League 25/26

Arsenal have the squad and the ability, but they don't have the mental fortitude and history of winning big trophies (recent) that the three others have.

    Champions League 25/26

True, you phrased it in a way that you weren't addressing me directly. But seeing as you quoted me, it makes sense to think you were implying it was me who was doing what you said. The point is, it's highly unlikely that they will win the CL. Because they never have and it's 21 years since they...

    Champions League 25/26

Nice strawman - where did I say they were 'shit' and don't stand a chance? I even said logically they should do well, implying they're a very good team. But it's a mental block they have. Plus I am consistently proved right in backing against them. It doesn't seem like reading comprehension is...

    Champions League 25/26

Think Man City or maybe Bayern on their best day can beat them. But yeah, apart from the thing about it being difficult to retain the trophy, they should be big favourites.

    Champions League 25/26

I see why you would think that, but they have never won the European Cup (despite having better teams than they have now) and consistently fail when the pressure is on. They're the perfect example of a club where logic says they will do well, but they'll let you down when it counts, every time...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

Yeah, finishing (maybe a fairly distant) second in La Liga (third if Atletico can get a great run going) and getting to the QF of the CL (dependent on draw) is what I would see as a safe bet for the season. If I was staking my life on it right now I would say 2nd in La Liga and QF of the CL...

    Champions League 25/26

Teams are poor across the board. PSG and Man City are the only teams who look good (by good I mean best in the world level) to me. They also have the two strongest squads, and two best coaches, in my opinion. Edit: forgot Bayern too, though you never can tell with them with how they dominate BL.

    Champions League 25/26

Too many simpletons who can't see beyond the last game said they and Pep were finished because they had an off-season last year (despite winning four league titles in a row before that). Other than a few players, they have a far better squad than Barca. And a miles (and I mean miles) better...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

It's 100mph football and lacks nuance and subtlety. His football beats you over the head with a hammer. I don't like that, or the German style of coaching in general (even though I rate Klopp). Also, none of these German coaches can defend adequately. We see it in BL too, with scored like 6-4...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

Yeah I agree, especially with that first line. His tactics are too volatile and too much of a lottery. His tactics are also extremely athleticism dependent, more so than actual football ability, and I dislike that in a coach. As @Messi983 says, it is no surprise your players are dropping like...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

That's very flattering to Flick. And no offence, but I don't think Barca are top contenders. In prestige of the club, yes, but I would be extremely surprised if they were crowned European champions this season. As @malvolio says, even with those weaker players, they still have better players...

    14 - Marcus Rashford

When you play loads of games against clubs, you're obviously going to score some. He played against Man City and Liverpool twice a season for ten years (apart from when injured). Of course he will have some goals against them. He and Man United never did anything in the CL or league, or got...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

Yeah they can win stuff. But the point is, you wouldn't bank on it, and Flick is actively sabotaging the team. Not for the first time, that high line against Girona was absolutely suicidal. If he does that against good teams it's begging for trouble. It isn't even 'high risk', it is flat out...

    Hans-Dieter Flick

I don't need to watch every game (especially since I am not even a Barca fan) to know how you are playing. It's very easy to form an opinion on a player or coach quickly. You can tell after 10 minutes if a player has ability. Same with a coach. I am not in a bad mood. If I thought Flick was a...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

Overall, there's a lot of players on here who get talked about like they're superstars when they're just good, or even average. People need to get a reality check. @malvolio gets accused of hating Barca for his negative slant - I don't think so. I think he just has high standards and is used to...

    CL : Barca - Olympiakos 6-1

Lol yeah, thanks. I agree with most of that. Tbh I thought people would take offence as that reads very anti-Barca. But it is not that. I am simply calling it as I see it. I like Barca and Pep's Barca are the best team I have ever seen, but I am honest and if I don't rate players or coaches I...

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Hipster coach overrated by hipsters who think football is theory played on paper. He's good, but no more. No way is he an elite coach imo. He's done nothing as a head coach other than win a lucky COVID treble and bomb Germany in Qatar.
