    Xavi Hernández

From the accounts of Guillem Balague, this Achilles problem appears to be a chronic one and it's not likely to get any better. It has become a case of managing it as best they can, possibly until the day Xavi decides to hang up his boots.:(

    Xavi Hernández

Xavi would welcome Iker Casillas at Barcelona Xavi would happily welcome Iker Casillas to Barcelona but has admitted the chances of the goalkeeper making the move from Real Madrid are virtually zero. Casillas has fallen out of favour at Real this season, losing his starting place to Diego...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

I remember when Rafa Benitez said "Messi's PROBABLY one of the best players in the world". :clown: This thread is getting :satorra: crazy.

Your Barca / Bayern XI - judged on 2012-13 Seasons form only

All I can say is ... It's a good some of you aren't football managers in real life. You'll end up getting docked points for fielding an ineligible team.:p With 12 Players  They ought to win.

    Andy Carroll

Just 3 games off the top of my head this season. Carroll vs Spurs, Chelsea and today against Man Utd. The defenders of those teams will tell you if you asked them that this was one of the toughest games they played this season. Whoever he plays against he gives the defence NO REST. And they...

    Andy Carroll

As good a player he is, Ben Arfa is injury prone. I agree with you about Carroll. You could play Suarez behind Carroll. With a 4-2-3-1. GK RB--CB--CB--LB Gerrard--Lucas Sturridge--Suarez--Sterling Carroll

    Andy Carroll

What I like about the big man is that he is not just a big lump who can hold the ball up. He has good technical ability and football brain as well. Going to miss him when he goes. :(

    Cesc Fàbregas

 What I meant was the "Control" a CM has is only usually measured by his pass accuracy. But we know this can be skewed eg. a Defensive Midfielder can finish a match with a 100 percent pass accuracy and never make a forward pass the entire match. The stats would indicate that he had a...

    Cesc Fàbregas

I think you have misunderstood the point I was making!?! I am saying that it is a flaw to judge one CM with another CM based solely on stats (Goals & Assists) alone. And I never criticised Xavi. In fact quite the opposite.

    Cesc Fàbregas

Clearly some of you didn't get the irony of my "stats" post. I too think it is a flawed argument and doesn't take into account the control a midfielder imposes in games. Hell! If we went by stats alone then Frank Lampard would be the greatest midfielder of all time. But how many unbiased fans...

    Cesc Fàbregas

So you like stats hey! Now lets compare ... :cesc:Cesc Fabregas Honours Arsenal Winner FA Cup (1): 2005 FA Community Shield (1): 2004 Barcelona Winner Copa del Rey (1): 2011–12 Supercopa de España (1): 2011 UEFA Super Cup (1): 2011 FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2011 National team Winner FIFA...

    Cesc Fàbregas

I think it is overreaction to write him off already and get rid of him. It's true that he was signed to eventually replace Xavi. But it's becoming worryingly apparent that he is not in the same league as Xavi. When he was in England, he was one of the top ball-playing midfielders in the EPL...
