    Arthur

The majority of professional footballers party occasionally and there's absolutely no reason why it should affect their attitude. They're people too. If anything, being denied your desire to let loose once in a while will probably affect your mentality more. I don't want players here thinking...

    Ivan Rakitić

If Frenkie runs more than Arthur, what does that have to do with Rakitic lol?
  3. BusiTheKing

    Ivan Rakitić

Eh no, if the data you have is skewed, then you should dismiss it lol

    Ivan Rakitić

Please tell me that you understand that someone who plays entire matches is going to run less pr. minute than someone whose performances this season in the CL are 30, 6, 22, 78 and 63 minutes long. You understand that it's easier to match a certain intensity for 30 minutes than for 90 minutes...

    Ivan Rakitić

True. He lets the pressure converge on his position and then offloads it on the next guy.

    Mavericky Puig

What's the point of discussing anything if we're just going to take Valverde or the boards decisions as reflecting the true merits of a player. Let's make up our own minds shall we?

    Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

There's vision and intent behind what he does, which is the key thing here. Being able to actually pull it off too, at this age, is just a bonus, but it's the bonus that will get him minutes under Valverde.

    6 - Carles Alena

He wasn't perfect but he took responsibility and was the only midfielder to challenge their pressure, like this dude explains: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CcSOLk9zQU&t=9m10s

    Junior Firpo

Everytime he has the ball you know he's going to do something not good.
  10. BusiTheKing

    Ivan Rakitić

I don't know what you can say. You look at the situations in which he gets the ball and there are just so many times where a good player would use the situation around him to do something that creates attacking momentum, catch the opponents pressure on the wrong leg, switch the groun on them...

    Arthur

I have honestly never found myself irritated at Arthur for not making a return run or not taking the opportunity to make himself available. Can't say the same for other midfielders, though, who hide in the shadows while their teammates suffer until a nice little space opens up where they can pop...

    Arthur

honestly wouldn't want a man who uses condoms on my team

    Ivan Rakitić

Because when we're under pressure, he actively makes that pressure worse for everyone else on the pitch. Everyone is absorbing their part and helping out others. He takes his part of the pressure and adds it on to the next guy's load. He's the opposite of what we need.

    Ivan Rakitić

so the criticism consensus has been that he'll be good enough for La Liga matches we dominate anyway but that he crumbles in tough fixtures, and people are using a game against Mallorca at Camp Nou to refute that??

    Lionel Messi - v7

Small minds don't see this, but 07/08 was and will forever be his goat dribbling phase. Not too sophisticated, not too green either. The heuristic adventure, his powers unfolding by the game with relentless, unruly, absolutely reckless terrorizing of defenses. Pinging all over the place. His...

you have some serious cognitive dissonance issues mate. edit: to bbz8800

    Ivan Rakitić

aren't you literally using Rakitic' stats for a single game in your argument?
  19. BusiTheKing

    Ivan Rakitić

Players are walking past him honestly, he's not good defensively at all. Way too slow.
  20. BusiTheKing

    Ivan Rakitić

There is so much more to take into account that it's honestly ridiculous. Even if you do wanna base it solely on stats, you're ignoring those that make Rakitic look bad. Like, isn't it just a little bit relevant how much a player gets dribbled past? Rakitic: 1.7 Busquets: 1.2 Arthur: 0.6...
