Maybe we still got Vermaelen. Wouldn't be surprised. Can someone check if he's stored somewhere in the back?

    Sergio Busquets

I'd take Jandro over him. Solid passer, good defensively, reliable on the ball and can run for 90 mins.

    8 - Pedri

Because he had a few misplaced passes and bad touches? So did the entire Paris team. They still rolled us over.

I'm not saying that the philosophy of Barca can't work. I'm saying that any philosophy of a team, be it tiki-taka or anything else, is something you can think about AFTER you've got those basic building blocks in place. Disciplin, physicality to match top level opponents, belief, spirit...

    8 - Pedri

Age has nothing to do with it. It wasn't nerves that made him useless today. He wasn't a better or worse player than in any of those La Liga games where he looked impressive. The difference was the opponent. At that tempo at that level, he's not going to make a difference in a million years.

    Sergio Busquets

Big part of our problem. In moments of the game, I tried to imagine that the whites was our team in order to notice how they moved compared to us. Just immense differences in physicality, disciplin, alacrity, spirit and belief. The basic building blocks of a team, which we haven't paid...

    8 - Pedri

It's another great chapter in Barca brand arrogance thinking that a player like Pedri will ever be top level material. There are loads of examples of players with his talent and style that never touched the top teams of Europe and for a good reason. He'll continue to do some nice things in...

    Ilaix Moriba

I mean... he's gotta show something more than that if he wants to get promoted.

    Frenkie de Jong

Pretty sure it would have been a slaughter without him patching up defensive holes for 90 mins.
  10. BusiTheKing

    Antoine Griezmann

He's only ever been good for us in the center. When him and Messi switch back and forth between 9 and 10. On the wing he's been useless literally every game he's played.

    8 - Pedri

Griezman in the 10 role interchanging with Messi up front. When Messi goes deep, Griezmann goes up front. Trincao on the right, Dembele on the left.

    Antoine Griezmann

It just doesn't work. Often when we get a break and are able to go forward, we set out in a formation with zero attackers. It's so easy for the opponent to crowd us in the midfield because we don't push them back and we don't stretch them out. We're somehow the only team in the world that...

Let's hope he isn't played at LW for one minute more.

    Mavericky Puig

Thought he was pretty good in context. Was the only one creating momentum, pushing Betis back. Gave the ball away a few times but so did everyone else. Pedri certainly wasn't any better when he came on and he had the luxury of playing alongside Messi and De Jong in build up.

La Liga | Round 22: Betis - FC Barcelona 2-3

    Pjanic is fucking horrible

    Trincão

He's got quick feet but yeah for tonight it's hard to look past that one miss where he could have passed it to Messi. Sure, the defender was there, but there was loads of space to take a tactical touch opening up a better path for the pass.

    Mavericky Puig

Better than Pedri today for what it's worth. I will take the player that offers himself in difficult situations yet fails over the player that doesn't offer himself and therefore doesn't give the ball away.

Copa 1/8 Final: Rayo Vallecano - FC Barcelona 1-2

There were two very nice moments where he basically received it in his own half with his back to the goal and turned it into an attack with one-twos, quick passing and running into space. He adds a lot of verticality that way.
