To me it looks like he is trying to settle on a defence and get some more stability.. and for now that chosen defence would be Kounde Cubarsi Eric Balde. Kounde is the best RB Barca have. Personally never rated him anywhere close to what some have on here but he is the best RB and Flick has...

Cubarsi and Garcia were not as bad as made out at weekend when watched again. Cubarsi had some moment when head went a bit after goal but I think it is overplayed. Anyone who is picked will have flaws is the issue. Fucking both took long range efforts though which was a bit bizarre.. then...

Araujo/Kounde CB would be awful. Both a fuck up waiting to happen. Poor on ball and one of them would have to play LCB.. probably Kounde. The man marking of Pedri and FDJ becomes harder to get past with those two at CB.

Lewa was also there v Sevilla for worst result of season where he missed a pen and was utterly abysmal.

FC Barcelona: Win of the youth system

Watched Atletic game from weekend. Juan Hernandez was very good again. He has been better this season than Guille, Dro or Toni in that Atletic side so far. Seems to have a burst of pace more so than had before.

Exactly but Christensen is rarely fit. I would have Eric in there as first option if Frenkie/Pedri not there. Casados 'form' has been shite for not far off a year. It isnt form.

Garcia for me is the better DM and has played him in there a bit. Did play Casado at DM to move Frenkie further forward v Girona etc. But the issue is there is a huge drop off from Frenkie/Pedri to Casado and see it every time. Also as sad before as soon as you take away the Pedri/Frenkie...

Except your comment on Flick is clearly not based on only this season and was same comment being made last season anyway. He literally is not just sticking to 'plan A' either this season or last.

Thats not really true though. Barca sought to control game out and take ball away from Inter for example... but Araujo arrived. Now could say its his fault for putting on Araujo but not sure there was an alternative. I think Flick knows Barca lack in power/height and takes the risks to try...

Flick cant win. Folk moan about him not trying to control ball out in games... when he has done that. Barca were doing it v Inter and could see Frenkie and Pedri trying to calm down certain players being over elaborate.. this happens a lot. Then Inter score from 2 Araujo fuck ups and its...

Haha no.. it impacts both sides of ball. The double pivot allows for more attacking players for good and bad.

They played in a double pivot and not both would move forward.... like at Barca. The relevance of Stones moving up is to try and educate you how City operated that double pivot. Still dont get it though as usual. KDB was clearly the AM that season of the three and played off Haaland a lot...

Because they scream 'play like PSG'. Also they are Xavi fan boys who made every excuse under sun for him and really thats at the heart of it. 'Flick bad'.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

No.. you just have no idea how City played and couldnt understand what being told. 'You implied it' = I was wrong. Stones was used by Pep to step into midfield and add numbers when one of Gundo/Rodri moved forward and maintain that shape. Grealish played as a wide player to hold ball and take...

    Hans-Dieter Flick

It was a double pivot when got best out of Rodri and won CL etc. IT was double pivot which allowed Rodri more freedom to get forward and help towards balondor for both club and country. Who claimed City played with four midfielders? That just more you not having clue how City played.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

    Who listed four midfielders?

    Hans-Dieter Flick

No team is trying to play a strict 4231 not even Barca but City have played double pivot in centre midfield for years and still are now. They have almost all adapted for now to have a double pivot in build up to offer better options in building up from back. Rodri didnt just improve and have...

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Pep has played double pivot for years on and off.. mostly on. Quite clearly two deeper and one more attacking midfielder on front of them in the set up. Played it last season and this also.. with Reijnders/Nico struggling with it a bit. Its where Gundogan played the season before Barca signed...
