He's played 4 games as a CM and 1 as FWR and his whoscored ratings are much higher in those positions than as RB where he has played 5 times. He's a CM but in truth he's intelligent enough to play anywhere.

I'm a big fan of Stones and an Everton fan and while he's got certain qualities that Smalling doesn't have and probably a higher potential I think right now Smalling is better. I agree Smalling is the best CB in the league and has been for well over a season now.

Very good game. You can see how he's trying to get the balance right between keeping possession and being direct and sometimes ending up holding on to it for too long. That's definitely good for his overall game but every now and again I just want him to hit it. :-)
