I hope so. He did say he approves of Hodgson, and I think Gerrard has as well. Good signs.

Do you think the 4 year gap between World Cups should be decreased?

But we have things like UEFA Euro, African Nations Cup, etc. to hold us over while there is no WC. So a lot of the national team fans still get to see their country play. I don't think we should have World Cup so often as it would make it less special and would start to take away from club play too.

    USA

Petition going around to bring the WC back to the USA in 2018 or 2022. If we are serious about getting the American public's interest into football, I think this is something that needs to happen.

    Fernando Torres

Fernando Torres' agent has denied making the comments published in the English press on Monday regarding the striker's future at Liverpool. The saga continues...

    Who are your football icons?

Mine are going to be a little different since I've only been following football for the past 6-7 years so I can't just say the obvious ones other people are saying when I didn't actually grow up with them. But I thought I would post mine so you guys can get an opinion of a young American who...

    Enganche or Trequartista?

Never used enganche, trequartista sometimes. But #10 is what I am most likely to use as well.

    Champions League or World Cup

To answer the specific question, I think the WC offers the highest level of football. It's quite an honor for your country to choose you as one of the best 23, really only true stars play here, whereas in CL there will still be teams with average players on them, but 1 or 2 stars which carry...

    Fernando Torres Vs David Villa

You're right, you can't predict things that did not happen. But I'm saying that there is all likelihood that he could have based on the form of both players at the time (both fantastic players but the ratios are speaking here). Yes there could be curveballs like Villa could have scored hat...

    Dmytro Chygrynskiy

Already? Thought for sure he'd get another chance, although yeah it's probably true that even if he stayed with us he wouldn't be played often anyway.

    Fernando Torres Vs David Villa

That comment didn't make sense simply because it's not like Liverpool are a top club anymore either, let alone a wealth of other reasons.

    Fernando Torres

That interview was given in December 2009, so about halfway through this past season. I understand the audience of that interview was mostly Liverpool fans but still he didn't need to say things he didn't mean, he could have just said he is enjoying his time there like the fans want to hear and...

This season they very well could be, especially if Cesc leaves.

    Fernando Torres

Torres himself is loyal as hell, he has even said he hopes his daughter grows up with a Scouse accent. if that's not loyalty then I don't know what is

    Fernando Torres

Last month his agent (presumably the real one) said he was very likely to stay at Liverpool, and then this guy comes and says he might move. Torres himself hasn't said a word other than that he will talk with Hodgson after the WC, so I think this might just all be the media's doing with not much...

    Fernando Torres

I have to wonder if maybe the media just get confused then since both are named Jose Antonio, rather than that the Martin character is being an impostor.

    Fernando Torres

Who is his agent now then Ed? I don't pay attention to stuff like that, names of agents etc.

    Fernando Torres

I'm aware of that, but that still doesn't rule out a future move a few years down the line. 100% sure it would never be Real Madrid though. It would either be Barca or a move back to Atletico (which he has expressed interest in doing to end his career as I said earlier)

    Fernando Torres

Torres should be dropped imo, no matter how much I like him, if he's not on form that's very dangerous especially in a semifinal against a strong German side. I'm actually hoping Pedro starts and Llorente subs here, keep Torres out completely except maybe in the last five minutes for the sake of...
