The bench isnt nearly as good as the players on the pitch. Whats behind Xavi, Iniësta, Messi, Pedro and Villa? In my opinion it makes the competition for the players behind those that Guardiola selects to start the game completely open. His versatility also increases his chance to play.

You have a point there. Im not saying his slacking off, but for the past couple of games he doesnt seem the Afellay that I know. Makes more mistakes, looks a bit unconcentrated. Perhaps he is in safe mode not trying to get injured. Today is his last homegame.

PSV wanted 10 million last summer and they already came to an agreement with HSV for that amount of money. But Afellay didnt want to go to HSV, because the 'feeling' wasnt right. Looking at how they play he had a great hunch about their squad.
