    Atlético Madrid

Falcao's injured. Bad news is, Real might overtake them now. Good news is that they could now drop a few more points.

    Who should replace Valdés?

Maybe because there are plenty of better options?

    Who should replace Valdés?

This. Lloris could also be a good option. Maybe De Gea, but I wouldn't go for him. All 4 would be better than Reina.

    Who should replace Valdés?

To be fair, we've also made some great signings (Alves, Villa, etc). Our signings do seem to be hit-or-miss though, a bunch are great and a bunch are terrible. Hope we make one of the great signings when we replace Valdes.

    Atlético Madrid

Not too worried, they shouldn't be able to close it much further, as long as we don't needlessly drop points. Especially since Falcao is injured. Gotta give them credit for being second above Real Madrid though. Hell, they might have been fighting for the title in any other season. Hope they...

    Who should replace Valdés?

Holy shit he sounds fucking perfect for us, besides the fact that he can't speak Spanish obviously. Still though, from what you're saying, I'd much rather have him than De Gea. Barca have been reported to be interested in Ter Stegen, though we've been reported to be interested in de Gea as...

    Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

We need to preserve the lead. The league is pretty much over, but only if we don't start needlessly dropping points.

    Gerard Piqué

Tbh, him and Mascherano together has worked out pretty well. Wonder if that has anything to do with it.

    1 - Victor Valdes

He's also been playing for a better team overall for the past few years, who have 70%+ ball possession in every game. I don't know how the stats were before 2009 but I'm guessing Casillas had better stats before then. I could be wrong though.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v2

Some people criticize him because he plays for one of the best teams ever. Actually, I think the fact that he stands out in possibly the greatest team of all time speaks volumes. I highly doubt Barca would be in the discussion for being the greatest team of all time without Messi.

    Who should replace Valdés?

I say push hard for Hummels, and make Subotic a plan B if it just isn't happening. Either should pair nicely with Ter Stegen since they share a language (I'm guessing Subotic can speak German). Better for the goalie to be able to communicate well with one defender than none.

    Who should replace Valdés?

I'd rather get a proven world-class defender. Hummels would be perfect, but I see your point, he'd be hard to get. Subotic maybe? If that Marquinho guy is cheap, I suppose we could offload Bartra or Muniesa (probably the former) and get him to be a backup and potentially a future starter. But...

    Who should replace Valdés?

I say get ter Stegen along with Hummels. That should solve the communication issue partially, since they can at least communicate easily with one another. It will be expensive though. And that aspect of Ter Stegen should be perfect, he'll also wake Pique up whenever he's daydreaming about...

Who will win the Champions League?

IMO, it's gonna be Barca vs Bayern for the final (with Barca winning). That's when Bayern always seem to choke. Barca and Bayern have definitely been the 2 best teams in Europe's top leagues this season. And Barca's defence is pretty good when Pique and Puyol are playing (barring yesterday's...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Barca's signings seem to hit-or-miss. We've made some good ones like David Villa and Alves.

Who will win the Champions League?

Bayern and Barca will be the teams that will be the most hungry for it imo. Man U might be pretty hungry as well.

Who will win the Champions League?

We still have the best midfield in the world and arguably the best attack. And our defense is pretty good when we have Pique and Puyol playing together (barring yesterday's game). And we probably have the best record this season out of the teams in the top 5 leagues. Definitely the best league...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Which is why I think one of them should be sold if we get a new CB this summer. We don't really need 2 backup CDMs.
  19. darthvader7888

    1 - Victor Valdes

Yeah, but we might want someone who can speak Spanish from the beginning. Ter Stegen would still be a good choice imo though. Especially if we get Hummels as well. I'd say Courtois, Lloris and Ter Stegen are all good choices, each with their pros and cons.

Transfers and Rumours - old thread

I'd much rather get Ter Stegen, Courtois or Lloris. They'll be more expensive but worth it.
