Pair of central defenders for Stamford Bridge

Sorry, wasn't sure whether to write the back-line "facing me" or "facing away". I went for the "facing away" but i figured those who read would understand - what i meant by my formations therefore were like this: henry - eto'o - messi iniesta - touré - xavi abidal - cáceres - piqué -...

    Champions League

Cause it's boring and depressing. Oftentimes, it's okay to watch teams like Chelsea play in the BPL because at least there sometimes they open up and score a few goals, and concede a few too. But in Europe, since a lot more is at stake, matches are usually cageyer. And add to that the fact that...

    Alexander Hleb

To be fair, Hleb's had more minutes than Gudjohnsen this season, and yet you say Gudjohnsen would probably have done something Hleb couldn't - that says something....

    1 - Victor Valdes

Full credit to Valdes, he kept us in the 2-legged tie and he basically foiled Hiddink's "grab an away goal" plan. As did Touré and Piqué in my opinion.

    El Clasico 08/09: Real Madrid - FC Barcelona: 2 - 6

That's true Beast, it's a characteristic that i don't think any other team has right now. The way that Madrid were 12 points down, it actually helped your season in a bizarre way. As soon as the Clasico was over the Madrid players came out with a paradoxical determination, and while the...

Also I wouldn't play Victor Sanchez in CB, so far he's only ever come on as a substitute for Alves, or in Copa matches playing in his position... I wouldn't take such a huge risk when we already have Caceres, who's hardly that bad.

Pair of central defenders for Stamford Bridge

Ultimately I agree with Guardian - after all, Caceres hasn't played too bad - one match aside - when he has had the chance to do so. Let's see what he can do!

    Yaya Toure

You're right - the first time I saw Lampard last night was in the second half, when they closed up to his face for some reason. Of course, off the ball. And then after I saw Lampard before he got subbed off, when he slide-tackled Iniesta from behind.

    El Clasico 08/09: Real Madrid - FC Barcelona: 2 - 6

If this match were being played in November or December, but with the same context, Real would win. They would have no pressure and they'd be able to pull off one of their typical results. But on Saturday, Real KNOW they must win and they will have to open up. Barca will start by keeping...

Pair of central defenders for Stamford Bridge

We have a few realistic options in my opinion and i really can't decide: Most conservative: Abidal - Caceres - Pique - Alves This one would mean that we virtually only attack from the right, and Abidal helps out, perhaps a lot, with Caceres. Most attacking: Sylvinho - Abidal - Pique - Alves...

    1 - Victor Valdes

And Pique, who had a good game, and imo Iniesta did a lot too. He was the only one of our attackers with any life in him really. What Valdes did i think should be a prerequisite for a keeper worthy of playing for Barca, but doesn't merit a MOM purely because he really made one save. Chelsea had...

    Bojan Krkić

It was such a stab in the chest to see Bojan miss... But i'm not so sure Eto'o would have scored with the way he's been playing.

    9 - Samuel Eto'o

I'm sorry but you have some serious issues. I NEVER on one occasion refuted the fact that Eto'o was a great striker. In fact, if you cared to open your eyes and you read my posts, you'll see that i wrote that Eto'o was the best striker in the world. Yes, he WAS the man at Mallorca. He was also...
