IMO, Messi provided a moral boost to the team when he came on. The entire team played much better with him on the pitch than without him.

Yeah, him and Xavi did uncharacteristically poorly. I think Messi's absence had a psychological impact on the team. Him coming on really lifted the team's morale IMO.

Tbf, he did do really well in the first half of the season, and against Mallorca (then again, it was only Mallorca). He's not in great form right now though. Still, I'm pretty sure it's just a form thing. Something needs to be done about him losing his form in the second half of the season though.

Tbh, I don't think any team has been impressive throughout the whole competition. Most teams have had their great moments and their shitty moments (Milan 2-0 Barca vs. Barca 4-0 Milan, BATE 3-1 Bayern vs Bayern 2-0 Juventus, etc). I haven't been overly impressed by any of RM's games so far...
