I don't know much about him, but I'm not sure about getting him. Knowing Porto, they'll probably ask for a lot more than he's worth. I'd much rather overpay on him than get someone like Luiz or Vermaelen though (based on the little I've heard about Mangala).

I'd much rather get an actual world-class CB rather than a potential one, but I'd rather get Marquinhos than someone like Luiz or Vermaelen. Bascially, world class CB > potential world class CB > someone like Luiz or Vermaelen.

They're probably getting Bale. He's overrated (definitely NOT the third best player in the world) and not as good as Ronaldo, but he'd probably be the best like for like replacement.

Marquinhos would be a bit of a risk and I'm not entirely sold on him, but I'd rather get him than some of the other CBs we've been linked with (Luiz, etc). Of course, there are others I'd want us to get over him, like Silva. If we get Marquinhos, I just hope he's ready to start all the big games...

If we make an offer, I think he'd go to Barca over RM, since we need a CB, and RM don't. Hell, there's a decent chance Marquinhos would start for us right away. As for RM, there's no way he'd start over Ramos or Varane.
