Honestly the whole idea of the move "being respectful to Villa" is kinda weird, it's like they pick & choose when to be respectful so the club gets good PR, especially after the Abidal debacle. Where was the respect all season long when he was benched most of the time?

There are very very few players that I think are ACTUALLY worth 40m+, but that's today's market for you. I still think he would be a fantastic signing though.

Just because it's less bad than some of the examples you stated, doesn't equate to "fantastic". Cesc & Alexis although they are regular players for us haven't been extremely impressive. Alba/Song are good ones, Neymar too early to tell.
